LAMY AL-Star Fountain Pens $21.99 + Shipping ($0 with OnePass) @ Catch

140

Looks like the previous deal from the 8/9/22 is back for Azure and Cosmic colour LAMY Al-Star fountain pens, and now $0.65 cheaper for that extra ozbargainer value. Bought two for just-in-case presents.

Will likely arrive in a small plastic sleeve (i.e. minimal packaging) but writes beautifully if your handwriting is beautiful.

Prince C should have used this brand instead.

    • Should have used a Texta, like Trump

  • Mine came loose, without a sleeve. Had a few dings but whatever, it adds character. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How do you fill them in? Noob here

    • You can buy refills in various colours or a converter that enables you to fill from a variety of bulk inks

      • Thank you. I know refills can be messy back when I was using fountain pens in high school

        • It's really not too bad these days. There are lots of tutorials online if that's your thing. For what it's worth I have several Lamys at various price points and these are a great starter for the price.

I use an eyedropper and just buy ink in bottles. This makes it much cheaper to refill and it really isn't all that different from using a converter.

      • I have a couple of the converters which work well.

If you DO want to refill the supplied cartridges, I'd suggest using a syringe (I've got a couple with blunt/flat ended needles). Clean and accurate. No messes!
