They still bill the subscription separately (later) than the camera cost.
You could theoretically use a pre-paid debit card to cover the camera cost and then it will be $0 when they come back for the subscription charge later. I can't guarantee it works/ they wont do something about it though :D

I wouldn't worry too much about this deal expiring, the next deal will probably include an extra battery and a charger, or the likes, the deals can only get better….

The gopro 10 went up $100 to $629 a few months ago. Even with the 11's release its still more than its initial launch price.

I read somewhere it's works out cheaper if you just buy the 11 and accessories separately to build up the same as the "Creators Edition" (in the one order using the members discount) , I dont know if it's true but it may be worth checking…

- once your subscription expires all your videos get deleted from the cloud.
- You can only buy discounted batteries with a new camera, batteries can't be shipped without a camera purchase..
- accessories are discounted a decent amount but once you add shipping they're generally cheaper to buy locally, so it's only really cost effective to buy accessories with a new camera.
- the camera replacement service costs you a bit, currently $150aud for the Hero10, I think the latest model like the "11" is usually $200 https://gopro.com/en/au/legal/plus-fees
So, if you're buying a new camera on a subscription, grab your spare batteries and accessories at the same time ;)

If you do buy from Gopro, order your members discounted spare batteries with the camera, batteries can only be shipped with a camera purchase, and it's also worth grabbing any other accessories you want to get with your members discount at the same time because the shipping kinda kills any discount if you order them later..
$649 with subscription is just the permanent price for the latest Hero Black.

The old trick was to place an order for the camera + subscription deal, pay with Paypal, then immediately cancel the Gopro payment permission in Paypal… They charge for the camera immediately but they charge the subscription a while later, so with the payment permission being blocked they could never charge for the sub (which was $70 last year), they send a couple of payment reminders then cancel the sub, so you get the camera at the discounted price and dont have to pay for the sub…I did the old trick with a friend on Tuesday evening (on a Gopro10) and it still worked just fine. I can appreciate the person posted it on Thursday, but might be worth trying if you were going to pull the trigger anyway

@SamuelGT: Yeh, the camera purchase and Subscription seem to be different departments, billed separately, so even if you cancel the payment permission and never pay for the subscription they still send out the discounted camera & accessories…. You'll get a couple of "payment failed" emails, and a warning email saying your subscription will be cancelled if you dont go pay for the subscription, just ignore them…
Just go through the Gopro checkout and pay with Paypal like you would anywhere else, they set up an Auto-Payment permission in Paypal so they can rebill the ongoing subscription…
Straight after you finish the checkout go to Paypal >>> Settings>>> Payments>>> select the Gopro auto-payment permission and cancel it so Gopro dont have permission to bill you again in the future… This link may get you to the auto-payments:

Dji is better, they just need to improve their colors, GoPro has better colors, it may improve with the future firmware updates.

Yes, I found out the hard way that it's buried deep inside their T&C's and they wouldn't even just extend it out of goodwill, even with the multiple GoPro purchases showing on my account.
They lost a customer this year just from that.

Not sure if it'll work yet but here's what I did:
- Transferred $580 onto my Visa debit card (because if they try to charge both amounts, in theory the second amount shouldn't go through)
- Added Hero11 to cart for $649.95 ($579.96 + $69.99 for subscription, free shipping)
- Entered my details, chose PayPal, placed order
- Authorised $579.96 charge with PayPal
- Got a success screen
- Went to PayPal Automatic Payments and cancelled GoPro within 5 seconds
- Checked PayPal Recent Activity and it says PENDING, "This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your payment method can cover the payment. Your payment method will be charged when GoPro Inc. completes your order"
- Checked my Visa debit card balance, $0 has been charged so far
- Clicked on GoPro's email link, created cloud account
- Cancelled GoPro subscription, it says "Subscription end date September 22, 2023"
- Checked GoPro subscription billing history, it was empty
- About 10 mins later $579.96 was taken from my Visa debit card
- PayPal Recent History is unchanged, still says Pending
- Checked the Track My Order email from GoPro, it says "We don't see it, but hold tight”

yeh, $580 isn't too bad… It was $676 at first due to the shipping, they're good cameras but that's a hell of a lot of money, you'd need to be using it a lot to justify the spend…
Yeah and I asked my mate at JB what price he could do it for and he said $720! I asked about matching GoPro direct and he said manager already said they won't do that as it's not the same product because it's bundled with the sub.
Received shipment email, but hasn't left warehouse yet.
Another update - it says it's left the warehouse, but tracking says "Package is delayed in transit. Delivery will be rescheduled."

Final update - Hero 11 arrived this morning (Monday). I ordered it Thursday morning. Still no notifications that they couldn't bill for the subscription, and definitely wasn't charged for it.

Last year they sent me 3 or 4 emails then they cancelled the subscription, I just ignored them all…

I'm not sure of the URL, I just clicked the email that asked me to setup my cloud account, created the account, then went to the subscription tab and cancelled it.
Followed these steps today and it worked as you explained, received the tracking number already

I picked up the Accessories Bundle for $543.16 using the Unidays discount plus the subscription cancellation trick above.
That bundle price isn't bad really (with sub trick), pity they dont include the battery charger though….

Nice! Mine is still stuck at payment authorisation pending. Not sure what the holdup is. I ordered approx 1pm yesterday. I didn’t do the subscription hack. I already had a sub active using the iTunes turkey deal.
Update. - shipping notice finally came through. Spoke to customer support and they advised that payment only gets confirmed when the item has shipped.
