Bolzzen Commando 48V 20Ah Dual Motor Electric Scooter $1607.20 Delivered @ Ride Hub

200
ZIPFEST20

As part of the Zip Pay Day sales, Ridehub currently have 20% all their electric scooters with the code. The Bolzzen Commando is easily the best electric scooter in the sub-$2000 bracket and offers a lot of features found in the more expensive scooters. As a quick price comparison it's $1895 at Scooter Bros and $1899 at Bolzzen.

Edit: The offer is for Zip Pay only, however it appears to work for other payment methods.

I've used a lot of scooters including the Segway G30, Xiaomi Pro 2, Dragon Lightning, Kaabo Wolf Warrior and can easily say this is the best value scooter for the price. The sinewave controllers make it smooth to take off, I can easily get 50km+ range out of a single charge, the dual suspension handles terrain well, the dual motors handle hills/offroad and the build quality is excellent. Certainly a good option if you're wanting more range or something you can take offroad.

Designed for both road and offroad use this features dual 800W Sinewave controlled motors, a restricted legal speed limit of 25km/h, an unrestricted (private use) speed limit of 60km/h, 48V 22Ah battery with up to 70km range, PU Type-C Suspension, 10" pneumatic tyres, front & rear hydraulic brakes, IP54 waterproof rating, bright front headlights and suitable for riders up to 120kg.

Please note: Electric Scooters aren't legal in NSW, VIC and SA for public use. Electric Scooters are legal in WA, QLD and TAS when the speed is restricted to 25km/h. Always wear protective equipment.

I chose a random number between 1 & 9, the number is 6, so my comment is:
      'Legal in Tas'

Wow, my first car was cheaper

    • Same. I paid $50 and they filled the tank for me.

      • See, and i bet this scooter isn't even fully charged up :)

        • I would hope not :P Like a phone you'd hope it's about 70% out of the box.

      • Showing your age there Clear!

Too expensive for an illegal vehicle…

    • +2

Depends where you live. It's not illegal or a vehicle where I live.

      • so which state is illegal and which is not now?

It's in the post at the bottom.

So what rebranded scooter from Alibaba is this?

    • +3

It's a modified Joyor S series. Their main scooter the Bolzzen Gladiator started off as a VDM-10 and now looks far from the original design. They do a lot of custom modifications with the factories.

      Joyor 10-S

Thanks OP. Great price for this scooter. Just wish there were more independent reviews of it to give me confidence long term.

60km/hr on a scooter sounds rather scary.

    • Yeah I wouldn't recommend it unless the scooter is dual stem or has a steering dampener and then I wouldn't go fast.

    • Hence the term temporary Australian

      • Non scooter riders arent temporary? They live forever…..

        • Unless they get by a scooter going 60km/h

  • So do you have to hack the firmware to unlock the max speed?
If not, can you set a speed as max e.g 35km/h?

Does Bolzzen or ridehub offer support, parts e.g tires?
Is it easy to replace tires? Or is it like the Xiaomi?

Isn't Kaabo the best one? Or this is almost as good/diminishing returns?

No firmware hack required. You hold down the M button to get into the advanced settings, then set P10 to either on or off for the restricted/unrestricted speed modes. In other scooters the P settings for speed are based on voltage so you can adjust set limits on the unrestricted speed, e.g. 35km/h, 45km/h. Unfortunately that's not the case here.

Yes Bolzzen stock spare parts. As for tyre changes that depends on the person. Obviously a bit more work involved since both have motors. Somewhere like Scooter Hut or Pedl in VIC would be able to do it quite quickly as they normally have machines that do it.

Isn't Kaabo the best one? Or this is almost as good/diminishing returns?

Depends what you're after. Kaabo, Vsett and others all have high end and low end models. This fits into the sub-$2000 category and easily beats many of the $2500 scooters as well. If you're wanting high end with larger battery capacities and more control, then Kaabo Wolf or Nami Burn variants are the go.

      • Ah okay, yeah I've had the G30 for a while and sometimes lament the lack of top speed, suspension, and the few occasions I've had to ride on grass or sand/gravel.
Kaabo and Nami looks cool but $5k+ is a bit much for just a scooter. (I probably wouldn't commute with it and wouldn't want to go 100kmph anyway)
Thanks heaps for the info, do you reckon there will be a deeper discount come black Friday?

        • I think 20% is usually about as good as you get. Scooter Hut who have rights over Kaabo are pretty protective about their prices. Bolzzen Gladiator is a good step up from the Commando.

  • "The Bolzzen Commando is an Affordable Off Road Electric Scooter in its class."

    Great description there!
