Amazon Prime Payment With No Balance Debit Card

So I decided to sign myself up for a month of Amazon Prime because there seems to be a rise of Amazon deals lately. I had used their free trial before, and was happy to pay $6.99. But I had accidentally pressed pay with one of my burnt out debit cards that I got from the BWS deal. I immediately received an email saying that my trial had started, and I had also just made a purchase with the Prime Free delivery, so not sure how I successfully got it without actually making a payment? When I go to "Your Prime Memership" it still says, last payment- In Progess. So just wondering what "In Progress" means and if this has happened to anyone else?

don't amazon only charge the card at the time of shipping?

can't you just cancel the order?

    • I'm talking about the membership?

  • It’ll try and take payment after the trial. When it does and can’t it won’t renew.

    • I have already used up the trial. This time it was supposed to charge $6.99 and the payment method is marked as "In Process" which I am not sure what it means

      • OIC, maybe it’ll try a few times before it decides to mark it as unsuccessful.

  • Later when the payment fails, it will ask you to update the card details. Mine was charged couple months after the activation date.

You'll probs get a dishonour fee $10-20 from your bank.

Then Amazon will try again, and you'll cop another fee.

You'll then probably have to physically reach out to Amazon to cancel membership.

Also you'll need to call the bank and beg to waive both fees.

    Or just cancel now.

    Pick your poison.

      Except it's a pre-paid card

  • usually they take payment after like 2 hours, then they will ask to update the payment details due to failed payment.
I think even now you can change the payment method from order history
