Don’t do it. These Vintec wine fridges fail over and over again. Every time a service tech comes out - surprise surprise - you cop a service fee and it’s not repairable. They then con you with a credit towards your next wine fridge purchase.
It’s a con. Heaps of people fall for it. Never again. I went through 3 of them.
I don't disagree that they fail over and over again.. I collected many broken units where the compressor has failed. However I disagree that they fail under correct use. These wine fridges have an undersized compressor and aren't meant to endure rapid temperature fluctuations. It seems that people put them under heavy loads by filling them with a case of warm bottles of wine, rather than slowly introducing a warm bottle at a time. Anyway, I hope that you were able to find a suitable wine fridge.
I've had at least one with a compressor fail, another with a gas leak that was said not to be repairable, and I forget what another excuse was.
The Electrolux guy who Vintec sent out to charge me a service fee on the most recent occasion said that he doesn't understand why anyone buys these fridges given how often they fail and how they're not repairable. If that's their service guy's opinion then I'm out.
Each of the wine fridges hardly had a tough life. The fridge was on 24/7 in a relatively cold / dark area of the house, and oftentimes bottles were simply stored for a long time untouched.
