[PC] Spider-Man Remastered Free with Nvidia 3080/3090 GPU or PC Purchase @ NVIDIA

180

"For a limited time, get Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered with the purchase of a qualifying GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, 3090, 3080 Ti, 3080 desktop, laptop, or GPU."

According to the promotion FAQ, "not all retailers participate in the GeForce game bundle promotion. Check with your retailer if they are participating in the promotion."

Seems like a nice extra for anybody who is planning to get an Nvidia 3080/3090 GPU in the next month.

NVIDIA really struggling to offload their overpriced 30 series cards atm 🤣 makes me very happy

    • +14

Absolutely. Daily reminder that even the RRPS were overinflated, so the price "drops" we are seeing, are the prices they should have been at launch.

    • Lol the one neg that you non-lhr

      • -1

        hahahahahahaha

The RTX 4080 will release second in November and will start at the below prices for the Founder’s Edition (which we aren’t sure if Australia is getting this time around).

RTX 4080 (12GB) will start at $1,659 AUD
RTX 4080 (16GB) will start at $2,219 AUD

        https://press-start.com.au/news/tech-news/2022/09/21/austral…

There's the HODL tax for you HODLers.

    • Wait until RTX4090 press event by NVidia, coming very soon™.

RTX2080Ti prices dropped by ~$1000 in Australia less than 24 hours after the 30 series press release.

      Proof: https://youtu.be/ysCm7g6iZWY

      • Can confirm, had a 2080ti. However people were panic dumping those for $7-800 only for them to double in value again during the shortage.

      • -1

wow, that means 3080 Ti here will be $199 soon, https://evatech.com.au/product/7466/

I'll buy hundreds of them then…

    • We may laugh but there's no consequence for nvidia to charge high prices. If retailers want to sell them they only need to drop them 5% or so.

If gamers were to walk away despite prices being dropped that would completely work. But gamers are incredibly weak, have no self restraint and definitely don't mind getting ripped off.

Despite crypto exiting the equation. Gamers are chemically addicted like gamblers (this will be seen as a problem in the future, along with the emotionally toxic rage/abuse video games tend to create). That's why they can't hodl when nvidia barely drop their prices. For nvidia to actually experience hurt you need less addicts and more real hodlers.

There's a good bet these people literally couldn't survive without a pc or video games for 3 days. The consumers even get delusional hodling after a while. ie they do some mental gymnastics that allows them to pay over $1000 for a 2 year old 3080 and still believe they hodled.. paying retail price 2 years later.

    • -3

HODLer really struggling to upgrade their ancient GPUs waiting 3080 to hit $200. Makes me very happy.

  • 4000s getting closer around the corner. Hopefully.

    • +1

Is that a September corner ?

    • +3

Rumour indicate 4090 this year and the rest next year. NVIDIA wanting to offload the 3000 series first.

      • +12

They can easily offload it just by reducing the price lol

        NVIDIAssholes

        • Why would nvidia release 4000 series now? When you can just drop a $1500 card $50 or throw in a free game.

The real assholes are those willing to pay that much for gpu's. They are the enablers of the market we've witnessed this last decade.

Soon enough companies won't even need to release new models, just constrict supply lol. Millennials burn their cash like no other. People like that non-lhr have to literally tell themselves hodlers are suffering by hodling. But I got a 6600xt/1080ti for $350 and it'll keep me at bay for 4 years. The modern market hasn't affected me personally and I never plan to buy into it.

          • -1

@Jimmy77: hodlers are suffering by hodling.

      • I read they gonna sell them side by side based on performance but doubt it

        • They'd be silly not to. If they dropped 3080 to $1000 everywhere they'd have no trouble selling them.

If they dropped 3080 to $1000 and still couldn't sell them. Then yes gamers would actually get a new gen

      • Lol these rumours keep delaying the launch of these cards
Was set for july, then august then september. Now its sometime this year…
        Who knows honestly

        • +6

If it follows what they usually do

I would expect Nvidia have a big announcement for top tier cards by November, as these things are also marketing before Christmas sales.

I don't expect any stock available unless it's cards selling for $1500 USD

AMD will instead announce their entire linup which will be cheaper/better value than Nvidia, but be unable to supply any stock, as AMD like to telegraph their product announcements before they are ready to try convince buyers to wait.

Then Nvidia will cut prices of their midrange and you will be able to buy a 4070 by May 2023

          • @greatlamp: The wonders of competition. NVidia would have loved to sit on their new architecture for as long as possible but they can't let AMD steal a march on them. Makes it a real shame what happened to Intel's Arc endeavor.

            • @dudleydoright: I don't think even Intel expected their first generation of GPUs to be successful.

I hope they do have something decent in a couple of years (in fact I have bet heavily on it). There aren't many companies that can afford to wear the millions of $ losses it requires in R&D, marketing and industry connections required to compete with Nvidia.

Even AMD struggles. I expect Intel will eventually overtake AMD in market share

              • @greatlamp: Word is that Intel is shutting down it's discrete GPU project completely, so it's not likely they're going to be overtaking AMD anytime soon.

                • @dudleydoright: I'm not taking them seriously, the reasoning is not solid. Intel has already invested billions in new fab capacity, which haven't come online yet. The entire industry is well aware that the destop pc market is dying, and even in that dying market ARM is becoming a viable alternative to x86, if that continues intel will be competing with every man and his dog, not only AMD.

The r&d is spent and not recoverable, and the GPUs won't need to be made by TSMC forever.

If they shut down the GPU business as this analyst suggests, what are they going to focus on for future growth? Making wifi cards? The Investors are waiting for the long term prospects to come through, they don't care about short term savings.

                  • +1

@greatlamp: The MLiD report had multiple sources so I wouldn't dismiss it so easily. Also, the article you linked describes why multiple analysts think that Intel should sell off its AXG business and it was written in August.

          • @greatlamp: They have a specific GeForce event September 21 and suppliers are already starting to update their database with 4090 skus (we usually don't see this till after announcements and closer to product becoming available). I think we're going to see 4090 earlier than expected and the others will follow in the months afterwards like past series launch.

Doesn't matter if its AMD or Nvidia, launch stock will always be limited, if they can't re-supply enough to meet demand may see some post launch price inflation but won't be anything like the 3000 series.

      • Just saw a credible leak of a picture of a 4080 in an anti-static bag on GN so possibly not.

I remember getting like three games with a sub $400 AMD gpu including AC:Odyssey. Paying $1000+ doesn't seem like a good deal.

    • +4

I got AC Valhalla pretty much at release with a $150 RX 570 deal 4 years back (along with 2 other new games), so yeah I know what you mean.

This is definitely not the biggest "bargain" ever, but I see this deal as more an FYI for those who are planning on making a purchase now regardless. I wouldn't say no to a free Spider-Man game.

      • +4

I got AC Valhalla pretty much at release … 4 years back

        AC Valhalla released in 2020.

        • +6

That's why it was such a great deal!

        • +1

Oops 😅 guess it was only 2 years ago! Feels like a lot longer

    • AMD is always better at these bundles. Their "Raise the Game" bundle recently included Saints Row, Forspoken and Sniper Elite 5 with a 6700XT and up, two of those games weren't even out at the time (although Saints Row seems to be a bit of a dud).

Still, Spider-man is a pretty good win. So many games plummet in value after release but Sony seems to be keeping the price high. Can't even get God of War under $50 and it has been out for 9 months now.

  • +9

Should see these bundle keys hit keysellers at some point soon then which will make Spiderman pretty cheap

    • +1

      Very good point.

Nvidia flat out said they were going to manipulate the market to squeeze more money out of customers
    https://youtu.be/15FX4pez1dw

    • +2

Lmao jayztwocents. A public company that isn’t a charity but makes money for shareholders?

      • And you think that means people shouldn’t be aware of their business tactics? I’m not saying it’s illegal
I do like that you can’t decide which part to reject first to protect daddy Nvidia

        • Jay said it himself in the video. If you're going to be mad at Nvidia, you're going to have to be mad at everyone else too.

That's why competition is important and collusion between companies needs to be regulated. AMD can if they wish to price aggressively forcing Nvidia to do similar, but not if they all agree to artificially keep prices up. AMD still might not do that, but it is an available strategy to them and everyone knows lately AMD cards have been better value. I say this as someone who continues to buy Nvidia.

          • @syousef: Yeah I’m not saying they’re the only company to do it either. Just wanted people to know that any “supply restrains” that might come up as excuses to raise prices again or keep prices at MSRP this late into this generation are totally manufactured

          • @syousef: Jay has blown a pretty standard business practice of not flooding the market and made it sound insidious. AMD do the same thing and the last gen should prove they aren't going to give their cards away either.

            • @Osiris: Supply and demand. Supplier controls the supply. Well of course they do! It's not rocket science and it is only surprising if you're naive.

  • Is this given as a Steam code?

Lol I'm gaming on 1440p high refresh with a 6600xt. I could even downgrade to a 1080p 24 inch screen without much sacrifice. I'm surprised more people aren't buying lower end cards. I mean even hardware unboxed makes the same point. Why in the hell would you buy these 3080/3090 models? Better to get a place holder (as 4070/4080 will be cheaper including the placeholder cost anyway).

After the entire world pc gaming on 60hz lcd between 2002-2016 after ditching 120hz CRT's from the 90's. It's pretty funny seeing all these people "needing" a 2 year old 3080. Is it because the 3080 is an "8 cylinder" while the 3060 only a "6 cylinder"

    • 1440p on mobile phone screen? lol.
