I want to freshen up my car a bit, not looking for anything fancy, just a simple clay bar, cut and polish service.
SE Melbourne, does anyone have any recommendation?
What should I expect to pay for a standard sedan?
Thanks

2004 camry
Looks like a 2012 actually… livin' large!
Haha good detective work.
hahaha, living large indeed.
DYI seems too much hassle than its worth?
The jims detailing says $199 which seems pretty reasonable?
@buckethat: You're not getting a good job for $199
For DIY you can atleast get some appreciation for the job and see what's involved
If it's white, I wouldn't even bother getting it detailed tbh
@spackbace: Yeah.. seems like anything half decent would be around ~350-400 and a garage queen treatment is like 900+.
I definitely appreciate the amount of work involved to do a proper job, its hard work, not sure I want to subject myself to that.
You reckon $199 will be an absolute shitter of a job?

Pretty much lol and I doubt it's claybar and polish
What colour is the car?
@spackbace: White
I spoke to the franchisee, says it's claybar, cut, high gloss finish then dress it with some graphene coating.
It's definitely over-promising for the price. It's a daily driver white camry, the paint is looking bit dull so I just want to clean it back up a bit.

@buckethat: You could be the guinea pig and let other OzBargainers know how good or bad it was?
@mapax: Yeah sure , just for you .
@buckethat: You'll get a pretty basic job for that price.
I used these guys https://www.westernsydneydetailing.com.au/
For my 18 year old Subaru GT and he did a stellar job. Dude knows his craft and is honest too.
Was $800 to do paint correction, clean up the headlights and do the interior.
Was it a lot? Yes. But he had the car for EIGHT hours and it looked showroom quality when it was done.
He walks you around the car after, telling you what he did and how to maintain it.
You get what you pay for. Jim's will be done in an hour and it'll be low quality
not looking for anything fancy
The cheapest would be one of the drive thru's
It’s a 2094 Camry. Wash it. If you really must, get a bit of polish and spend a bit of elbow grease.
Damn, OP living in 2094 😮
All the questions to ask!
I hate my fat fingers.
When I DIY, a car wash and clay bar takes about 5 hours.
Cut - 1 hour.
Polish - 1 hour.
I'm sure pro's are faster but 7 hours of work for only $199…I think it would be a rushed job.
DIY?
How old is the car?
