109 for a one compartment bag? And only 15L?

Certainly puts a dampener on your parade. Don't it.

    • +1

      Technically there are 4 compartments.
      - laptop sleeve compartment
      - main compartment
      - 2 pocket compartments at the front 😛

looks uncomfortable, better add a little and get a Osprey

      Agreed.

Those straps thin and not much support.

And if travelling a sternum strap is high recommended.

You're definitely paying for the aesthetics rather than function with this brand. Not very comfortable to wear for long periods of time if you're carrying around a lot of stuff.

      • 100% correct

I got a rains bag for my partner, she likes it. I can't understand why anyone would want a large compartment backpack with no zips and just a flap. To find anything you basically have to empty the bag. The straps are also not padded. It's definitely a bag for looks and not functionality.

    • zips will fail, eventually. you have to learn how to pack properly, things you don't need urgently go at the bottom, stuff you want easy access to at the top.

If they use highly quality zips they will last a long time.

        • they can, but a zip is more likely to fail, especially if you are out in the bush, whereas a flap with a buckle on it won't, short of ripping it (hard to do since they are usually made of leather and brass)

          • @[Deactivated]: Friend has a crumpler bag with those thicker zips and has had no issues daily use for work and travel for the past 10 years

            • @SpeedRunnerLink: it's still less reliable than a strap with a buckle. zips can last, but they can also fail. a buckle will last longer than the pack.

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: I haven't had any issues with my luggage and back pack zippers for the past 30 years

However I do get good quality brands.

      • Sorry Sauron, but a buckle can fail just as easily. As others have mentioned, high quality zips will last a long time.

You are also more likely to loose things with an open flap like this, and the weather resistance is reduced compared to something like an aqua guard zip.

I much prefer single compartment backpacks, i can use individual packing dividers if i want things seperate, but it just leads to a more versatile bag, that i can use every day, or empty and fit my whole camera cube in to fit in everything.
