Great price, I used to think Pic's was the best, but this dark roast is the best peanut butter going at the moment. So much more flavour.

Mayvers Dark Roasted Smooth PB is so good. I have been eating it almost daily for last 4 years; highly recommended it!

  • +2

Bought one crunchy and one smooth. Thanks OP.
Never heard of this one before, but if it has the Ozbargain stamp of approval it's good enough for me.

At Coles they also have an Extra Crunchy Dark Roast, my favourite! Maybe Woolies has it too, no idea.

    • I think you either love it or hate it, i binned mine i found it tasted like solidified sea water.

      • I didn't enjoy it when I tried it first time, but like a true ozbargainer, I wouldn't just throw it away, so I finished the whole thing.
By the end of it I was hooked, and the original version is now tasteless for me :)

I guess it's like coffee without sugar or dark chocolate, once you get used to it, there's no turning back.

Mayver ? MacGyver ? Thats what my brain read.

    Same price at Woolworths

    • Amazon was matching Woolies

  • +4

Now that the price has gone up, maybe they can properly sponsor Jack now.

    • Mayvers Protein PB went up 20%, even more than the rest of the range

  • +2

The crunchy dark roast is my fave peanut butter!

  • I have tried this one before… It tastes weird and took ages to finish. I wouldn't buy it again.

    • +4

If you're comparing it to Kraft or something like that you'll need to also have a spoonful of sugar with the peanut butter to adequately compare it.

In seriousness i'm curious to see which brand you are comparing it to.

I have been using Mayvers for many years. I usually have their normal smooth peanut butter but I tried dark roasted once and I didn’t like it at all. Not sure why I’m being negged lol.

The Mayvers Dark Roast Groupies are savage mate.

      • 0.8 vs 1.9g sugar per serve.

      • Also a spoon of questionable processed plant oil

  • Thanks, ordered 2.

  • Thanks op, ordered a few crunchy dark roast… was literally on my last jar from a previous deal.

  • +1

    Thanks OP; bought 6.

Now I have bargaining chips when i've done something wrong to the other half.

  • +2

Probably going to buy this from woolly instead as I got woolly discount giftcard

    • +4

Plus save on unnecessary packaging and transport if you're already going to woolies

    think its all gone

    • That's rubbish. I'm sick of supporting the Colesworth multinational duopoly. I would have rather shopped with a company that operates Aussie warehouses and provided jobs to Aussie gig workers.

      • +1

This is same prices as Woolies, I picked some up today.

        • Can confirm also picked up a few jars.

  • My go to if on sale though the only issue is basically no aussie peanuts in it… Bega one has aussie peanuts and i'd go for that if nothing on sale.

  • I like mine dark and crunchy

  • +3

Use this in recipetineats Malaysian satay curry (instead of anywhere Nagi recommends peanuts). Thank me later.

  • I don’t know what’s going on with Amazon but I’ve been getting all my last 3 orders delayed, they used to ship with dragonfly and now with incompetents of couriers please, like seriously Amazon? Really starting to think if I should cancel my prime membership

  • $2.90 better than $5.80..

    • Worse than $2.5…

      • This is true. Maybe give it a miss then and wait for the next sale.

        • +1

Hopefully this is not the new normal sale price…

          • @polarq: Inflation brother..

Still alright though, not the type of stuff i should be eating unless i physically can't get anymore calories.
lasts for ages a bit on toast here and there No point paying full price either way for stuff.
