Belong has 5G now

I've been with belong $10 prepaid plan for ages. Just noticed today that I have 5G. Maybe I've had it for a while but didn't notice till now.

      I think this might be my last month on the $10 plan.. or maybe this is the first on $15.

    OP, you mustn't follow the threads in OzBargain or the news. What Telstra did was turn 5G on for pretty much everyone using its network for a period of time in the hope that lots of people would like the experience and switch to a more expensive plan that would keep them getting 5G after the period of time ended. Of course you needed to have a 5G phone to know, but there is a lot of them out there.

    Just like when NBNCo uprated a lot of medium speed customers for a while in the hope that they permanently upgrade to a higher speed more expensive plan that would give it more revenue. In that case about 80% of people stayed on the plan they were on and dropped back to their old slower speed.

      I only know of Boost activating 5G, not Belong or Woolies. Which post on ozbargain mentioned Belong has 5G? I just did a search but cant find any

      yeah. I heard about Boost getting 5G but not Belong.
      Maybe it comes with the new $15 plan that I've been forced onto.

      5G has since appeared on one of my Belong services. I haven't had a chance to check the other one yet.

      Both of mine that are on 5G are on $10 plans. The other two on $15 don't have 5G - I haven't swapped SIMs to check.

    For those not getting 5G, try to reset network settings.
