Hi all,

Dropping another post:) Exciting time for us as we are moving into adult furniture and away from strictly nursery. We are starting with mattresses. We have been making mattresses for cots for 30 years and want to help out when children are transitioning to their first big mattress. Which means we can make them for all adults. We have started with single and queen mattresses for now. We have 50 of each in stock, but if we were to sell out we have ordered more. If we get to this reach out and I can let you know when the next shipment would be.

I wanted to reach out to OzBargain and offer $150 off either the single or adult mattresses and would love feedback on the mattress if anyone does buy one.

Shipping is free for the mattresses. We currently only ship to metro VIC, NSW, ACT and QLD. If you live outside these areas please contact us either on Ozbargain or through the contact us widget on the website and we can see how we can help!

The mattress - Is a rolled pocket spring mattress. It has a topper as well. I am not jumping too much into details here but if anyone wants more information just ask:) We are still building out the web page to add more details.

It also comes with the following.

  • 12 year warranty
  • 120-night trial
  • Firmness is medium-firm, this is really hard to explain. The springs are obviously firm but due to the topper it softens it up.
  • Currently the entire family (the team) is using them so I can only provide bias reviews but we love them

I can't give you + for this, but your nursery furniture range is very good quality.

    • Honestly - reading this is way better than a plus 1. We are really trying to move into the direct to consumer space and focus on getting some new stuff out there. Appreciate it.

      • everyone liked that

    adult furniture ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Anywhere where we can lie on one of the mattresses to see how it feels? Thanks

The only place would be our warehouse office out in Minto nsw. Which isn't ideal at all. we do offer the 120 night trial, so if you're unhappy with it we allow you to return it (goes to a charity). The only thing is we ask you try it for 30 days

  • Do they come in box ?

    • They do. They're rolled up pretty tight and then they expand when opening. you can see the box in the pictures on the site

      • Cool thanks will pass then

  • Tossing up between this one and an Emma Comfort?

Any reason this is a better mattress?

Going to reply and try and be as general as possible. There is little variation in these types of mattresses so this can apply across brands.
Emma has two mattresses (I know you're looking at one but will explain both)

      The comfort mattress

Your best bet in terms of a research point is to look up Foam vs Spring mattresses. I
      * Foam mattress, you will see it doesn't have a spring system. More of a longevity thing here. So yes foam conforms to you but it can stay conformed to you
      * Foam mattresses are great for some people but others find they struggle due to the heat retention of them. I tried a foam one (memory foam or whatever you want to market it as) and it was horrible for me. I run hot when I sleep. Pretty much because you're sinking in a bit to the mattress you're then being 'hugged' by it slightly which retains the heat
      * Foam is really good because it conforms to your body - this is why we have a layer of foam above our springs
      * Good if you're sleeping in awkward positions
      * to get a good foam mattress you're looking at spending big.
      * Companies started rolling foam mattresses because they didn't have the technology to roll spring ones. With our baby cot mattresses we are looking to progressively discontinue all foam mattresses. They just don't hold up as well and the comfort level isn't there over time. Only caveat here is if you spend really big on foam.

      Emma Diamond hybrid
      • Much more similar to what we are offering
      • Genuinely the differences are minute there isn't much we can change up aside from us using a bamboo layer on top they use a charcoal infused one
      • Spring system is why the cost is jumping up
      • they do have machine washable covers which is nice, but depends how often you would be using this. Pretty nice to have
      • aside from that the layers are pretty much the same

Hope this all helps! I don't feel I went "Hey we are better for xyz". In the end there is minimal variation with people doing spring rolled mattresses. What we want to compete on is customer service and focus on the transition from a cot to a bed (how we get into the market). This being said we obviously still do the mattress for adults but we just can't compete with the marketing budgets of emma and others.

      • Curious. I understood if it’s rolled up in a box they had no springs? How do you roll yours up if it has springs in it?
Also bought an Emma rolled up in a box last year and the foam has conformed into hollows in the bed. If yours has springs will that prevent this?
Would yours help someone who gets hot at night from most mattresses minimise that?

    • For what it’s worth bought an Emma last year. Couldn’t sleep on without pain until bought a mattress wool topper. It’s firm but not painful now. Also it didn’t stack up as it hollowed out where slept the most :(. Couldn’t recommend Emma in good conscience.

      • Did you have the option to return it under their trial? Or didn't try?

  • Description text on website is designed to be practically invisible, not for aged customers.

    • It kills me - apologies for this. We are launching a new website in a the next 2 months so it is just a pain we are dealing with.

  • It is common case for many Australian websites. I do remember when back to just beginning of Google era there was trend to webpages to be as simple and easy for reading as possible. That era is completely gone now.
Aggressive disruptive popup's and advertising is new trend.

I was having this discussion (argument) with our SEO team. So pretty much for us to have a clean website we have no chance of ranking on google. So we end up having to bloat it up to make it recognise us which is a shame.

Google is staying out of common sense in modern world. As many others however.
