½ Price Musashi Products + $8.95 Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ $50 Order) @ Chemist Warehouse

1720

Chemist warehouse have their Musashi range half price (excluding creatine). They do this every few months so it’s a great time to stock up. Free shipping when you spend over $50.

My personal favourites are the $2kg chocolate protein for $41.99. A mixture of protein bars and the watermelon electrolytes for $13.49 is delish after a big session.

Don’t forget the 1% cashback with cashrewards or ShopBack.

Really. I couldn’t find a dupe. Only this which is not same business and is charging more. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/722807

    • Please share the original deal. Thanks

      • -4

It was posed yesterday, I also saw this but now can't find the dupe. :/

  • +1

I was sad when yesterday's Good Price Pharm deal didn't include the bars/cookies as that's all I get from Musashi. The peanut protein crisp is hands down the best protein bar, on par with regular junk food.

  • Thanks OP. Been waiting for this deal to restock.

  • Musashi doesn’t have whey isolate?

    • +1

      Why do you need isolate?

      • +19

        Maybe it's Dan Andrew's account

      • Thought isolate is better than the concentrate due to low fat count.

        • -1

          Doesn’t necessarily mean it's better.

        • +6

That’s true but couple more grams of fat per serving will have negligible effect.

You really only need isolate if you are lactose intolerant or have some stomach issue.

          • +1

@mirovich: And even then isolate isn't amazing for someone who's notably lactose intolerant

        • +3

It is purer, but not worth the price difference for 99% of people.

        • +1

Only worth getting isolate if you are lactose intolerant.

Otherwise look at the price per protein.

        • +2

Thanks all for the responses. No, I am not lactose intolerant. I am reasonably new to protein game and still learning things. So far I have only used My Protein Whey Isolate and ON Gold Standard 100%. I felt like I had better results with isolate. Hence, my initial question. Bought Musashi to give it a go.

          • @hellbuster: As long as you buy a whey protein powder from a reputable brand then they will all get the same results. Even then, real food is always better than protein powders.

      • +1

because he might be lactose intolerant..

in any case, i had a look through their range, it seems everything is a blend as far as i can see…

      • +1

It is better for digestion & better overall protein, than Whey Concentrate

      • +8

Why not educate the OP instead of asking some passive aggressive question? It's no secret that WPI is often touted as being better as its easier to absorb given its "isolated".

"WPI and WPC are roughly equivalent in terms of absorption and macros, focus on Protein/$ instead"

    • It's a mix of isolate, concentrate and hydrolase. But it's low quality. You can see that from the amount per serve required for the relevant amount of protein. For example the shredder variety is only about 59% protein while the back of the envelope calculation comes to 64%.

    • Im on a 1510 caloric deficit per day
WPI's low fat and carbs truly help with staying under my daily macro count.
Cost more but its suits my goals
If u dont necessarily care about losing weight or calorie counting, you can get away with WPC and hope for the best

  • Time to Bulk up for the Summer lol

    • +4

My belly’s been bulking all Winter 💪

  • Great find. Time to stock up on the 45g protein bars

  • I am not a huge fan of Musashi, but could not stay away from this deal. Bought 2kg whey and a bunch of protein bars. Thanks OP!

Edit: What is with all the reporting of the post? Are people confusing this for a duplicate, or something else? Definitely not a duplicate!

  • +1

Has anyone seen the creatine in stock (not half price)?

    • +2

Price match with this I did it yesterday.

      • +1

GREAT idea, especially given @jonathan111 comment re shortages and resulting price hikes.

      • I just picked some up at Links Chemist Warehouse in Oakleigh.

I can confirm the price match went through at $20 without a problem which is indeed a wonderful deal considering the creatine stock shortages we've been seeing!

    • +1

Using the stock checker, it's available at the four closest stores near me in SE Melbourne. $39.99.

  • +6

Be wary that this isn't truly a Whey Protein product, the ingredients say: Musashi High Protein Blend (90%) [Whey Protein Concentrate, Whole Milk Powder, Whey Protein Isolate, Skim Milk Powder, Whole Milk Powder, Emulsifiers (Soy Lecithin, Sunflower Lecithin)]. The milk powders can make some people very gassy. Also the serving is 45g and it's only 30g of protein per serve.

    • +1

BS proprietary blend which doesn't require them to disclose the underlying percentages.

    • Mushashi 100%whey product is all whey

    • +1

Get the 100% Whey protein if you're concerned about protein/g

      https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/91338/musashi-100-wh…

Its 74% protein vs the one you described which is 67%

      • That is a better product, but still not as good as something like the WPC from black belt protein. I have a shake every day for breakfast and I would rather avoid having any unnecessary crap in it. It is a great price though as wpc and wpi have gone through the roof lately.

    • I would go with 100% Whey. They don't list out the proportion of each ingredient in the blend but I think it's a legal requirement to have the ingredients listed in descending order of proportion so WP Isolate is of lower proportion than milk powder which is no good.

    • +1

I love the gassy side effect of this powder, cos when I bulk up I know I am ready for a whopper of a fart so when approached for a challenge I win. Has never let me down.

  • +1

Why are the cookies and bars so expensive

    • The high protein bar has 45 g of protein, if anything that is good value

      • +1

Isnt meat mostly protein and it's much cheaper if we are talking about just protein value

        • You're paying for convenience. Of course meat has more protein.

          • @richy_o: Whey protein technically has more protein considering it has been concentrated and isolated.

            • @exit: Yes you're right, whey is an excellent source. I just find that whey is not as filling as eating an actual meal. I still have shakes every day for breakfast for convenience though.

              • @richy_o: Totally valid point. Definitely not as filling as an actual meal but many people use it to supplement and get enough protein rather than to replace a mela and become full. You would need 150g of cooked skinless/boneless chicken breast (one of the most concentrated meat source of protein) to get 45g of protein which would probably cost over $2 just for the chicken breast and no other ingredients (remembering that meat is sold by raw weight, water weight gets removed with cooking). Not only is chicken breast much more difficult to prepare than a ready made bar but it takes a really long time to eat as well. So yes, if you can get in a proper meal it is better for you but many people don't have the time/don't want to prepare a chicken breast for breakfast. If you don't want chicken breast and want to eat a breakfast food like eggs, it would take 7.5 whole large eggs to get 45g of protein. So if you want to get a lot of protein in your diet then this bar is a decent option. Shakes are cheaper per gram of protein but slightly less convenient as you need to have a source of water as well.

  • +1

Thanks OP, just when I needed to restock.

  • i was just instore. Wasn't on sale.

    • What did they say when you told them you saw it on sale at their website?

      • nah I didn't know it was on sale. I went in before i saw this post.

        • I’m wondering whether they did this as a knee-jerk reaction to Good Price Pharmacy offering half price.

    • a little slow to update the ticket price maybe

  • +1

Junk macros. 2g saturated fat for their shred and burn. Rofl.

  • +6

For those that signed up for Cheddar and wanting to make use of the $25 or $50 bonus cashback, this is a good option instead of getting cashback via SB or CR.

    • Great idea since they canned their 30% Nike cashback deal recently

    • Thanks mate! Didn't know about Cheddar. Saved me extra $25.

  • +1

Thanks loaded up on 6 months worth of ZMA capsules.

  • Thoughts on their pre workout? How does it compare to other brands.

  • I went into store and they HAVE NOT updated their ticketing, however the DISCOUNT IS LIVE on their system/POS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you head into store if you can, a lot of it is short dated, but i managed to grab a few that expire in 2023 or late 2022.

    • I dont think Protein powder powder expires. It's just "best before". I have used protein way past its "best before" date and I haven't had any issues.

      • same, ive consumed protein power 6-12months after BB date, but the quality/taste does change a little, likely cos of the quality going down, moreso than it being safe or unsafe to consume. Either way, I would still recommend going in especially if you are buying huge amounts and want that BB date as far away as possible, and it is convenient to do so. I wouldnt go out of my way to visit brick and mortar store if its too far away though, only if you have one nearby

    • +1

      Really good tip

  • Serious question but this vs bulk nutrients? Are they not always cheaper??

    • +4

$41.49 for 2kg at chemist warehouse Vs $66.5 for 2x1kg at Bulk Nutrients.

      • oh okay, either i forgot the prices at bulk nutrients or my maths is no good. Thank you

        • You might not have forgotten. Price has gone up a lot at BN. Some people I know have switched away because of it and opportunistically buy other protein powders on sale instead.

  • Great deal!
Used to use Optimum Nutrition Pro Gainer (Rip that protein was the best) moved to ON: Serious Mass. This stuff is tempting but the Cals are not as high as I'm used to hmm..

  • +1

the protein cookies is so yummy, always stock up when they on 1/2 price

  • Thanks for this. Picked up 20 bars. Looks like they had been cleared out by the time i got there

  • -2

this stuff tastes rotten as hell.

  • Got two from my local today just walked in and walked out nice and easy!

Vanilla milkshake flavour and chocolate flavour!

  • I know supplements have become an enormous business. I'm. Curious and need an honest opinion. From time to time, I buy protein from Venom Protein. Especially the Concentrated ones. I don't mind paying a few $$ more, but I get good quality.

What's the difference between this Musashi protein and any other Concentrated ones?

    Cheers

    • First of all you cannot guarantee which one is higher quality without sending a sample to an independent lab for testing. The supplement industry is highly unregulated and in many cases you don't get what is on the label.

If you take the labels at face value then this protein from this deal https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/91338/musashi-100-wh… will roughly be the same quality as Venom WPC because the product is essentially mostly WPC with a very small amount of WPI (deduced by the total protein per 100g).

If you buy the Musashi Blend https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/91354/musashi-high-p… it will be slightly worse quality because it is cut with milk powder rather than pure concentrate/isolate.

  • What do you experts think of the plant based protein power vs whey ? High level pro's/con's, only considering it thinking maybe even easier to digest ?

  • Time for some gainzzz bro

    • on the belly

  • -1

Price Jacking on their pre-workout. Bought it last week for $25, now they saying RRP is $40 with 50% off lol. how is this shit not illegal

    • You sure you looking at the same thing? 2 1/2 years ago the RRP WAS $39.99. Prices have definitely gone up on everything but I’ve never seen it RRP for $25. Unless they had 40% off last week which they do also.

  • Comments are motivating.

  • Thanks OP literally just finished a tub so just ordered 2kg 100% Whey Protein Vanilla C&C this time because it took a 1.5 weeks to deliver last time because they stuffed up the delivery

  • Ne1 tried the Plant based protein choc flavour?

  • -1

Whey protein is better, as it is a more balanced and complete protein. Plant based is missing some of the essential components and so there is less total synthesis. That means that plant based does not provide as much gain and in addition, incomplète or mismatched proteins turn into sugars instead, not what you are looking for ! Lots of info on it on streaming media !!

  • +1

Wtf is going on. 4kg of protein used to be $60 for the premium brands. Now it's $160? 🤣

Guess people keep buying it so why not cash in.
