  • how do they compare to the sugar ones

    • Interested to know too, before I commit to 10 boxes of these. Love the regular ones, reminds me of childhood.

I've been using these since I quit vaping over a year ago. For being "no sugar", they still taste great and very similar to the original. Also this is the cheapest I've seen them. I usually pay $14+

whats instead of sugar is more worrying

          • +4

@botchie: Not really… sugar alternatives have been around for 50+ years now. I would say we are past worrying about these "hidden dangers" of healthier sugar free options.

          • +4

@botchie: still better than what's in vape juice

          • +3

@botchie: Mostly isomalt, a sugar alcohol, like all the alternative sweeteners has never been linked to any problems. Meanwhile heart disease and obesity is #1 killer in almost every country, so yeah keep having healthy sugar and non-diet stuff because of hearsay.

      Bought these not long ago.

Imagine the sugar ones without the rush of sweetness and not as intense cream flavour and thats about where these sit.

For having no sugar, they are suprisingly good.

good price, Coles is $1.9 for single pack.

If you like the sugar ones, you're better off with the slightly bigger 3pk
    $2.95 ($2.66 s&s) 3 x 50g

omg. Are you trying to tell us that lollies aren't healthy? Wish someone had told me this earlier.

      • +6

Lollies are the foundation of any solid food pyramid. Without a handful of lollies a day, life simply ain’t worth living

Didn't neg you btw. Love u..

No way, a study where people used an oral GTT at HOME where they were NOT under any supervision found an increase in blood glucose?? The best part is how the blood glucose apparently increased but there was no increase in insulin? lmao.

The worst part is when people talk about them 'killing' the gut microbiome which is just blatant ignorance, wait till you find out that literally ANY change in your diet will affect your gut micribiome… and that negative changes and changes are 2 completely different things.. (also straight from the article "recruited volunteers …. who did not consume sweeteners in their diet ".
The best part is when people show a study with a possible link with sucralose and an increase in blautia coccoides despite blautia coccoides being associated with health benefits.

Interesting that this one study that wasnt controlled properly is fine and is the smoking gun but all the others ones which lasted longer show which show that non nutritive / artifical sweeteners can IMPROVE or are neutral towards a persons glycemic control are ignored.

It's the usual outlandish claim study, followed by we need more money to research it properly. When marketing & science collide.

Most of the claims are based on mice testing, extrapolate in these with a short 4 weeks pseudo trail with 120 people. I only flipped thru the Cell journal article, bit I couldn't see how many of those were in the control group.

Studies have to to start somewhere & good on them for trying, but one of the authors seems like his ego is bigger then his knowledge.

    Thanks, bought one.

No "added" sugar… is it sugar free though?

    • +1

0.5% according to the ones at woolworths

  • Darn, missed out! My colleague offered me one of these to try the other day. So good. Wouldn't know they have next to no sugar
