special code dedicated to you WatchNerd? love it! haha

  • +3

    What a code!

That watch looks like the love child of a 16600, SPB143 and a Pelagos

  • -4

Not associated with the store in any way? Wow they must love you to dedicate a code like that.

    • Associated if WatchNerd gets a commission in a way then yeh. But he’s not associated as if he has posted a lot of deals from a company, he can ask them for a special code :)

  • Reminds me of the Pelagos

Edit: Spoke too soon. Just saw ssome of the review videos.

    • +3

New 39mm Pelagos just got announced btw :)

      • hnnnng

      • Is it just the size difference?
What's the difference in the movement? Website says it's still 70 hrs.

I wish the LHD was in blue.

    Quartz yuck

    • +6

Considering how impossible it is for me to keep all my automatics powered, I love a quartz I can just pick up and wear (without worrying about winding it, changing date and time).

I used be a snob about it, but they have their place - especially for divers and chronographs, which you want on time all the time!

      • If you're not wearing it constantly there's really no difference. You could get a watch winder if you want to keep it alive for autos

The tick tick tick annoys me on quartz that's all

        • It pretty quick to set the time, wouldn't worry about a watch winder, just wears out your movements.

Agree, I like having a few quartz you can grab and go.

Can't say I can hear a quartz tick or not, depends if you walk around with it held to your ear.

          • @G-rig: ya can always put the watch away from your bedroom I guess

I wouldn't get a watch winder, the guy just said impossible for them to keep their autos powered so I offered a solution

            • @Poor Ass: Yeah the idea is not to worry about it and just set the one you want to wear at the time.

That's funny, ive never heard my Seiko tuna solar or mecha quartz vk63.. or any watch really. Your place must be dead quite like on the moon.

    • I agree

Has been $142 in the past + 6% cashback.

    Just sayin'

    • +7

I posted that @5.50pm & Amazon jacked the price @6.37pm. So it lasted 47 minutes.

This deal won't last long either. Just said something.

Quartz is a bit of a disappointment.

    • -5

lol i got negged for saying the same thing

    • +5

      For $150?

    • Lol what do you expect for $150
You could get a pagani automatic homage for that I guess

  • +1

    Homage inception

Bought! Nice find OP. I have approx 10 watches now and this is the first divers watch in the collection. Can’t wait to see how it looks!

  • WN, can you get us a deal on a Bulova automatic? Thanks

  • Almost bought good deal but looks big

  • wow that went quick ….don’t feel too bad i missed out as it’s 100M not 200m water resistance .
    but a nice desk diver.

    • Yeah and she's a big one.

I think an orient komasu would be better and worth the extra for something less generic, sapphire crystal, 200m.

  • why is this so expensive? Quartz, mineral crystal, 100m…

    genuinely wondering

    Edit: don't neg me I'm genuinely asking…
I know a lot of watch value is in the brand, is that the case here? Or is the finishing particularly noteworthy?

    • Out of curiosity, what are you comparing the price to? A Casio?

      • +1

        A duro yeah

        • +1

You get a lot of value out of a Duro and if the price is all you care about, then Casio or an Invicta is the product of choice.

To be honest, much of watch buying is beautiful rather than functional. Watches are the jewellery of choice for men and there is a lot of flair tied to brand, quality, complications and exclusivity.

You can get from A to B in Hyundai or a Ferrari, but the Ferrari of them will be far more attention.

          • @Deadalready: Yeah it's all about finding the best overall watch for the money, and deciding on a style etc. Invicta have some Swiss heritage and have been around for ages, but hardly swish made, and are very generic and cheap.

I'd also consider an ediface, pretty good packages, the band or Clasp is always cheap on most watches as the money only goes so far.

Great having a collection of various styles anyway.

    • +1

Cheap as far as watches go mate.
Assuming the finish is alright, not anything special spec wise.

  • This watch is giving me Tudor feels.

  • Any chance you can score me a deal on the orange devil diver? 🤞🤞
