Xiaomi is a much better choice from comparing specs at least.
XM opens multiple back doors for you, leaking your privacy to our enemy country.
while Samsung gives you 4 years Android updates
Samsung leaks your privacy as well, in some cases worse then Xiaomi.
Pay a little more for Poco F3 instead of this phone, debloat or custom rom and it's perfect.
Last September Lithuania claimed Xiaomi phones had built-in censorship capabilities and were sending encrypted usage data. Germany's federal cybersecurity office (BSI) quickly commenced a thorough technical examination. The result: "the BSI was unable to identify any anomalies that would require further investigation or other measures."
Lol. You have been way too sensitive on this matter. You need to understand the fact that collecting and processing 'your personal privacy data' cost money and resources. Your enemy country won't even bother spending money to do it since it's worthless. Privacy data may only be useful if it contains sensitive info. And you will need to install special software on mobile to manage it. Not Android by itself.
Yeah, like our "friend" countries don't spy on us. LOL!
You could get better spec from Xiaomi and other Chinese brand, but I think Samsung offer better software support and update. All they A series will receive security update up to 4 years, I think .
Of course not as good as Pixel, but Pixel update often buggy T_T
Good phone, got one for my mum
Any thoughts where the A phones align with the S phones? Eg is this about the same as an S10?
Similar performance to S9. It takes four years for a "mid-ranger" to catch up to a flagship. This is the crap that Samsung is now selling. At least its battery should be pretty good.

I've been out of the loop with smart phones for a while are the A series any good? Are they comparable to Xiaomi's at the $400-500 mark?
