      If the editions of interest its sometimes worth placing the order in case the price does momentarily drop down, in which case you pay that lower price.

      Paid $79 for Farcry 6 Gold Edition (with the season pass) for Series X at launch because the edition for a few hours dropped to $79 from the $124 typical price and Amazons lowest price guarantee kicked in. Think I basically paid the same as the standard edition was going for. Given you can cancel easily with Amazon, you can back out in Jan if the price hasn't reduced to a worthwhile level.

      I loved Riptide too, especially the character plot twist, but wasn't it only DLC and not a standalone game?

      The previous iteration from 2014 was completely scrapped and new dev started from scratch with their own direction.

      They were very quick to point that out in the dev interviews so it's pretty much a brand new game that started in 2018.

    Played Dead Island 2 at the EB Expo in October 2014. Bloody hell 8 years it took to get a release date.

    While this looks like it's going to be better than Dying Light 2, I've been burnt way too many times by pre-ordering. Decent price though.

      It was only announced last week at Gamescom. It's not the same game as the 2014 delayed one which was scrapped completely.

      Amazon pre-orders take $0 upfront so you lose out on nothing but gain lowest price guarantee.

      Few reasons:-

      • You pay $0 upfront now. Nothing at all until the game is dispatched.
      • You lock in the current price so if it goes up at launch (common here) then you're only paying $74.90 max.
      • You get lowest price protection so if the price dips to $50 for 30 mins randomly on some Thursday at 3AM, that's the price you pay if pre-ordered automatically without having to do anything.
      • You can cancel at absolutely anytime you like with 2 clicks and since paid nothing, there's no refund required.
      • You can return the game for free if it does arrive and you decide no longer want it or reviews are not favourable.
