    • All their soft goods are made in Vietnam

    • Made in the same place as my $5000 laptop that my career depends upon everyday.

Haha I've been reading the comments and it's been entertaining. I get it, it's expensive and unless you're carrying gear that's worth 10x more than the bag, any cheap bag would do too.

I've got 3x peak design bags (everyday backpack 30l, sling 10l and sling 6l), their camera straps, 2 of their capture clip and their tripod. Haven't had a complaint about any of them. Yea they're made on Vietnam etc..so what? Your iPhone is made in china so country of manufacture doesn't mean anything really.

Having hiked mountains in snow and rain carrying lenses, a drone, tripod and cameras, it's well worth the investment and comfort (not really this bag but the reviews are pretty good for this too). Carrying a bag on the train to work, this isn't the bag for you.

The benefit for these bags are reliability, safety, comfort, and also the lifetime warranty. When I've had issues with any of their products, they really do back it up and replace it not questions asked.

Just a note to the OP - thank you for posting!

OzBargain has honestly changed for the worst since I first started on this site. Constant unfounded criticism, mockery and hate thrown at every bargain. Notice how the perpetrators NEVER have any bargains of their own or any helpful comments, but love polluting the site.

All this will create is fewer bargains for ALL of us.

    Be better.

All people seem to want is news about when PS5 preorders open

    • yeah i didn't buy the specific bag in the deal but i bought a different one.

      so thanks OP

  • Whilst it seems like it's quite expensive, I'd actually probably consider it… If it didn't weigh so much.

My current Osprey weighs just around 1kg, and that's already heavy enough. (Nebula, 34L).

  • Thanks op. Just bought one. Might swap this out for my existing peak design everyday 30l and use this instead. Might keep the wandrd prvke as a backup smaller carry ..

Might have to sell the everyday 30l and the wandrd duffel to make space haha

I’ve had the Peak Design everyday backpack for years. I use it every single day and I love it. It still looks brand new and is super high quality. It’s layout and functionality is well thought out, it’s a joy to use.

Ive been following the “buy it nice or buy it twice” philosophy for many years. Less landfill, more enjoyable to use and usually has better long term support ( repairs etc).

The downside is the high upfront cost, but if you can afford it then I don’t see why you should be ridiculed for buying it.

Lexus, Tiger appliances, Vitamix, Yeti drink bottles etc, all of these are considered over priced to many but I prefer companies who design stuff to last, and there’s not a lot of them around.

Although it’s still too soon to call it, peak design is looking to be one of those companies for me.

    Thanks OP,

you made my day! was able to get this and one of their tech bags (which seem to review REALLY well) for about the same as the cheapest price i could find for the travel bag alone online.. that to me is a bargain.

For what its worth - I bought the everyday 30l backpack V1 about 3 years ago ($349). Last week the zipper on the top ripped and i was very sad. I called Peak and they simply said tell us the serial number and we'll ship you a brand new V2 bag?! I'm used to claims about lifetime warranty being fake, but it appears the new bag will also come with a warranty AND they told me to keep the old one which is still usable.

Not sure if this is a sustainable business practice, but i guess at these prices maybe?

Regardless i'm very happy with the brand and customer service.

  • What's the fuss about lifetime warranty? Does it only covers manufacturing defects? Do people think it will cover wear and tear too?

    • The usual wear and tear items that may break are the zips which are covered under lifetime warranty. If you ripped the bag by being careless, then that wouldn't be covered.

I have had it replaced under wear and tear for my premium bags.

One example was when I was running to catch a train and jumped in as the door was close and my back pack got caught and tore the seams a bit on the straps.

      They replaced with without hesitation.

Obviously if you get a knife and gut the hell out of it then it is a different story.

    • Yeah, it does cover significant wear and tear. Things like busted zippers etc.

  • Which is better? This, Goruck or the LTT backpack?

A real cheap alternative: IKEA Varlden 36L. Picked up the previous gen version for $30, now it's going for $75. Bag opens up like a suitcase, also very, very light (great if you're trying to one bag). Previous gen opened from the back (safer), current gen opens from the front (at least from the pics). Both look incredibly ordinary and discreet (and not in a high tech way, more like in an AmazonBasics way which is ideal). Cons of the Ikea: limited pockets, thin padding. Pros: much cheaper, much lighter, lots of space - ready for cubing.

About the price…$400 does sound too darn expensive for a bag but tbh if it lasts and you use the features… there are far worst purchases/ways to spend your money (e.g. things that never get used, like my $200 Chromebook from OzB lol…)

I have their Everyday 25L backpack. Bought it during the Kickstarter campaign.

Honestly, quality is amazing, and they keep improving it. I had mine for 5 years, and the zipper pull thingie got detached from the other side. Just that, minor thing. I invoked the "lifetime warranty" of theirs, and they just sent me a free freaking new backpack (that's how I know they keep improving).

It is honestly worth the money.
