Seasons Pride French Fries 1kg $2.09 (Was $2.79) @ ALDI

170

Sharp price drop since increase a few months ago.

I stopped buying these when they were priced over $3. So happy they are down again.

Opinion - Cooks well in a dry frier so save time and money from oven preheating. Also, I have found NZ potatoes have full flavour compared to the bland Australian frozen fries and chips.

might get one, are they crunchy just cooked in the oven, most chips aren't

  • Are they French?

Aldi is a German company although Germany does share a border with France so I'd say there is a little bit of French?

      • Sure, it doesn’t mean they don’t sell French products.

I haven't seen fries in Aldi for months.

The Coles french fries 1kg @ $2.20 goes okay.

What was the price before the price hike?

  • I'd buy them if any of the three Aldi's near me ever had them in stock

    • Yesterday the frozen section was totally emptied out in terms of frozen peas, broccoli etc.

Those fries look ok but not hard to cut up your own potatoes if you have an air fryer, can be oil free, bit of Moroccan spice (or other herbs like rosemary) and much healthier.

    • Haven't seen aldi fries for months. In fact last week 3 local Aldi's didn't have any frozen chips/wedges. Woolies had only McCain's, Coles had home brand wedges & beer battered chips.

      Bloody Southerners stealing our fries!

IMO the version of these with the rosemary is the best store bought french fries.

I thought ALDI must have had a special buy on freezers that's how empty my locals frozen department has been recently.

    • Yeah chips, veg, party pies are like chook teeth.

      • Aldi sells Chook Teeth?

      • My local Aldi had party pies but the regular size pies were sold out. Even the puff pastry was sold out.

    are these like chips?

    • Nah. These are, like, French fries.
