Just picked up a PS5 bundle from Jb-hifi Cockburn. The saleperson reckons they have another 11 in stock. I also called JB hifi in Armadale who reckon they have 10-15 available. There's more stock elsewhere according to the salesperson but you need to call to confirm :)
800 dollarydoos for vidya is a pretty big psychological barrier compared to 750 imo. I bet demand drops a little after the price rise.

Overall it shouldn't, as the game itself has dropped to ~ the $40 mark.
So in a way the console itself bundled up in the box probably has had a price increase but the game bundled a price drop.

If you can I’d think being there for opening is the safest option in case they won’t hold stock or they don’t take calls before the doors open and someone else gets the units by the time you get through.

Sony wanna take money from gamers. They've increased the price of not only PS5 console but also the PS5 games. I had played PS4 for 7 years. And big fan of Uncharted and Last of Us. But this generation, I selected Xbox and no regret.

To be honest, hard to find a game like Uncharted. But I play different genre and games.
Gears of War, forza horizon and Psychonautsb 2 are great! And I play various games in gamepass. Some jrpgs and sprt games (fifa) and kids games for my son.
Some multi games support cross platforms which makes it possible to play with my friends with PS system. I play Apex legend a lot recently with my friends and no legging at all.
Been with Xbox system more than a year. I only paid gamespass sub so far besides a couple of games that I bought on sale.
Strange to recommend Xbox without mentioning Game Pass though! Sign up using the method laid out in the OzB long running deal and you can get 3 stacked years for the same price as 1 year of PS+ Premium, and you get all the first party games on release, cloud streaming which works well, plus the catalogue of third party games is really strong (Sony putting in pretty minimal effort on third party so far, and no cloud streaming in Aus).
I haven't even got a Series S/X, I've got a PS5 and a good PC; haven't bothered to upgrade to PS+ Extra, but I've got Game Pass through 2025. Best deal in gaming (heck, probably in all home entertainment!)
PS5 games are the same price as Xbox Series X…actually, Dying Light 2 on PS5 is currently $29 at Big W when the Xbox Series X version is $39.
