Similar to this deal, but a tad cheaper. Lightning deal, with a $5 coupon you can apply on the product page, to bring down the price to $20.49.

I've been using this for the last 3 months or so, and was thinking of getting another one. Never had an issue, and it has withstood quite a beating (my partner's a sore loser). Does the job for 20 bucks, nothing fancy about it.

The title on Amazon says that it's also compatible with the "Switch Pro". Don't tell me fortune tellers don't exist. /s

  • Bought one of these last time and it's been a great second controller.

Does this works with PC or PS5?

    • -1

      yes

    • I've personally used it with PC wired though as my PC doesn't have bluetooth.

    Wow what trash https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/customer-reviews/R28546KT5G7WOL…

I'd never expect a good analog stick, but having it only register 8 directions is next level shit.

The reviewer posted in the other deal.

From the video, the 8-way refers to a gate that is octagonal vs round. It's not an 8 direction stick.

      • gate that is octagonal vs round. It's not an 8 direction stick.

If that was the case, the movement would still be smooth in an octagonal shape instead of round. But it's actually jumping from one point to next because there's no coordinates in between the 8 positions.

        • The generic is not jumping between the 8 points. The point is following the circumference of the circle in the calibration screen. The reviewer is momentarily holding the stick at each of the 8 corners which is why it doesn't look smooth.

In any case, the generic analog stick would not feel like how it does on the original, messing up the game.

@skid: Heya, I'm the reviewer in question.

It's quite possible they're octagonal, and what you're saying sounds like it'd make sense, within the scope of the calibration menu itself at least.

However, I did actually run and "set" the calibration (I didn't open that menu just for demonstration purposes in the video, I mean), and I could not get the joysticks to move smoothly at all in any of the games I tested (Crash Trilogy, Crash 4, and TY the Tasmanian Tiger 1, IIRC). I even hooked the controllers up to my PC and tried some GameCube emulation, using Dolphin emulator's calibration settings, and nada.

So yeah, no matter what I tried, the joysticks were effectively only 8-directional, even if not technically.

    • ah well, controller works fine for me when play odyssey, botw, mario kart
i also remember that im paying a third of the price, only thing this will affect is if you are playing competitive smash or something

also the battery life of this is good when not in use, i notice the pro controller dies after no being used/charged for a few weeks
i haven't used this controller for a few months and its still full lol

I don't know if mine is just from different manufacturer but I bought it from the last deal and absolutely hate it. The delay is no joke, like 0.5sec delay after keypress. Basically unserviceable for fast paced game like overcooked 2 for my switch

    • Maybe it’s faulty? An input delay that high would make everything but turn based games unplayable

  • I love these controllers, haven't had a single issue and they're really comfortable.

  • Same here, also haven't had any issues with ours - why aren't there controllers like this for the Xbox???

    • +2

Xbox controllers don't use Bluetooth. They use proprietary wireless connection.

Newer Xbox controllers do support Bluetooth when connecting to other controllers, but not to the Xbox console.

      • I had no idea about this! I assumed they were Bluetooth also (they use Bluetooth to connect to phones, PC's etc) …..

  • Great controller. Havent noticed lag, feels great, hasnt missed a beat.
Only issue I have is when I hit the button to turn it (and the Switch) on, the Switch turns on but the remote promptly switches itself off. I just have to hit the button and have it pair up again, its fine, just a bit annoying.

I apply the $5 but even in checkout the final cost is $25.49, anyone else having this problem?

    • Yes i have the same issue

      • looks like they finished $5 coupon.

        • I just tried and the $5 voucher worked for me. 7:30pm Thursday 25/08

  • Bought this controller last time for the kids and they end up liking it more than the official pro controller! Has really good battery life too.

I’ve bought three of these from AliExpress. They’re about $20 there as well. Postage time is a few weeks though. Haven’t had issues with them.

    • Wouldn't happen to have a link to one that you bought you could share please?

      • Not sure if this will work but here’s a link to the ones I bought. Price has changed tho
