So long story short, I purchased the Acer Nitro 5 15.6-inch FHD i5-11400H/8GB/512GB SSD/RTX3060 6GB Gaming Laptop
NH.QEUSA.007 4710886803607 (https://www.harveynorman.com.au/acer-nitro-5-15-6-inch-fhd-i…) on Harvey Norman website on 19 August and then picked up on 20 August. Now there were some comments on the same deal saying that people who purchased said laptop should be eligible for a digital code of Modern Warfare 2 but there was no actual offer listed on their website (one Ozbargainer was able to save a Google cache with the promotional offer listed on their website for the laptop). What weird was that another Ozbargainer was kind enough to send me a copy of his online invoice with the offer listed there and his purchased date was 22 August.
Now when I contacted Harvey Norman Online Support, they said that the offer was listed from TODAY 25 August until 29 August (conveniently) and that I should not be eligible for such code. However they are not the code supplier as they simply linked the code claim to Intel's Software Advantage Program at https://softwareoffer.intel.com/ ; to which I did try to lodge in a claim for the digital code and still waiting for a reply.
What do you think about all of this? Have I known that there was an offer for a free game I would have bought the damn thing after today but apparently since I bought it online so my Harvey Normal local store just told me off to deal with the Online Support department. This is definitely not a good CS as they messed up their own promotional offer and then confused the hell out of their customers.
Update: Thankfully Intel has confirmed that I am still eligible for the promotion regardless of my purchase date being earlier than 25 August. Just click the link https://softwareoffer.intel.com/ and follow the instructions to claim your digital code of MW2. Hope it helps anyone who might be looking for this information.
Sounds like business as usual for Harvey Norman.
But to be honest, it isn't their problem because it's not their promotion.
