After receiving the message for a while in the Medibank app about the pause of premium increases and cash give-back, finally we received our share of $138.00.
A friend of ours who had left Medibank a while back received this give-back way before us with a cheque in the mail. I am wondering about the logic behind this. Is it an incentive to lure back an ex-member? Has any other ex-Medibank member received this give-back as well?

Depending on the number to be issued, it's quite common for "personalised" comms to be released in a staggered manner so that the contact centre doesn't get hammered in one go. It could be broken down by any number of factors (or even combinations) such as age, geographical area, refund amount, etc to try spread the 'loads' evenly.
For this particular one, they've probably worked out that there's a good chance that a high number of people will call to ask how the refund amount was calculated.
Not yet for us. However, be aware premium hike is happening I think in November.
