Looking for Large Format E-Reader

I want to buy a large e-reader for sheet music (9 inch plus). All the large ones are insanely expensive ($500+) and have writing capabilities which I don't really need. A kindle dx would be perfect but I can't find one for sale in Australia anywhere. Does anyone know of a product that would work (under $200 preferably)? It only needs to be able to display PDF files, and a physical button to turn pages would be great too!

If you can wait a couple weeks, I can bring you back any of your choosing from the US.

DX would be too slow loading images to use for sheet music, unless you had basically memorised the next/previous few bars.

Ah ok, that could be a problem - I'll look up the refresh rate. Maybe it wouldn't work

This could work for you but be aware of the usual caveats associated with Aliexpress purchases ( Warranty, Chinese Version with multilingual support, being Huawei…, etc.)

BTW what's wrong with an iPad 10.2 (or even 12.9)?

    • Looks nice but a bit expensive. Yeah an iPad would be ok. Can borrow partner's but he may not want to give it up for the whole evening while I am out at rehearsal lol. I could probably find an old one second hand as they all come with a book reader built in I believe. I had the vague idea that ereaders were cheaper than normal tablets but looks like the opposite

This. I've seen professional musicians use iPad Pros to use as their sheet music

This Likebook/Meebook 10" e-reader is probably the closest thing to what you are looking for. There is virtually nothing cheaper in this class.

This or a Boox tablet, run full android, so you can display just about anything on them. You also get the luxury of bluetooth, so a cheap bluetooth remote can help you change pages with a hard button wirelessly like a pro.

    • Thanks! Yeah that looks like the cheapest that it is possible to spend. I had no idea they cost so much. I guess the tech isn't very far developed

They don't have the market share that tablets do so that's why their pricing hasn't dropped.

While the e-readers have a long battery life, a tablet does everything that you need. You may need an anti-glare coating depending on the environment you'll be using it in. Picking up an older model tablet would be the best option if you aren't too concerned about battery life or performance.

        • Yeah glare was another problem - music in folders with plastic sheets is sometimes hard to read. I'll have a look at anti glare coatings. Thanks!
