just a reminder, this game is on game pass.

    • Does game pass version allow for partner to play too without them owning the game?

      • local coop?

      • Yes.

      • As local coop it does

Great game. Best played on the couch with your SO or friend though via controllers.

Fiancé and I had a blast playing it. Good story, very fun.

I think the pc one allows your friend to download the game and play it remotely without owning it. It would probably be just fine that way, which I doubt youve actually tried

      • +2

It comes with a friend pass (both on Steam and Epic), that enables them to play for free with someone who has the full (paid) game.

      • +2

        …?

You start your sentence with 'I think…' then make a statement to me 'which I doubt you've actually tried'.

..So you haven't tried or confirmed this either? LOL

I was merely stating my opinion - in person co-op was very fun for us. Never said you couldn't enjoy it remotely though! Just that I believe co-op on the couch was the best way to play IMO! I guess I'll add 'IMO' next time..

        • -3

I wasn't pretending that I had played the online co-op like you were, so I made it clear I hadn't tried both formats.

          • @Budju: Reaper didn’t say anything about playing online. Unless he edited the original comment

            • @FireRunner: Thank you. No I haven't edited it.

              • +3

@ReaperX22: Ok, I kind of see where he’s coming from. You said playing in person was the best way to play. I guess he thought that implied you played both modes. But if you’ve played any game in person vs online then you make the comparison on which is better. Not sure why he was so aggressive about it.
I haven’t played the game at all, but I would 100% say it’s better to play in person than over the internet. But maybe I’m old fashioned

                • +3

@FireRunner: I can see how he read it. But the last comment in his original reply was just unnecessary lol. Could've just been informative, but he went 'snarky' instead for no reason. I never pretended to suggest anything!

                • -3

                  @FireRunner: Full aggression ey

    • Can confirm it's just as good playing online with a friend.

      • +3

Probably comes down to preference. While it’s still great playing online, being in person is just that bit better. I’m speaking about games in general not just this one in particular

    • Does Epic games have controller support or did you play via steam version?

  • +9

Highly highly recommended especially with your partner. Best coop game I have ever played

    • Any tips to get your partner to play with you? 😁

      • +4

Will be challenging if she never plays games b4 lol

        • She has played a few games with me in the past, mostly on Wii

      • +7

        Tip 1 : find a partner

        • +4

          Well howdy pardner

          Am I doing this right?

I tried playing this game with my partner and she did not love it! She has little prior experience with video games - she found the 3D Camera difficult to get used to. In contrast, Unravel Two went down much better. I think it's a good game though and could be worth a shot (esp. with game pass!)

    • Will add Unravel Two to the list! Thanks for the tip.

    • How many times did you tell her to "git gud"?

      • +4

I ended up raging at my wife worse than on Overcooked cause she was such a nub.

        • +3

Partner and I refuse to play Overcooked or that Moving game because she feels we'd yell at each other MORE in those than in It Takes Two! XD

          • +1

@ReaperX22: If you've got kids, get them involved too and find out who's the first to cry. #plzdontcallchildservices

            • @Munki: Haha no kids yet thankfully lol.

              • +1

@ReaperX22: With the rising prices of everything, wise! haha

        • +1

The jumping areas caused heaps of issues with my missus.

Overcooked is great fun and can cause dramas too ;)

          • +2

@Caped Baldy: Yeah mine really lacks spatial awareness I think. She struggled big time. Ended up playing the whole thing with the brother in law.

            • @Munki: So we get through it but I definitely get aggro sometimes.. Because her spatial awareness etc is fine, but she STILL doesn't know her left from her right! hahaha

              • @ReaperX22: Definitely don't play Mario with her then!

                • +1

@Munki: Oddly, she's great at Mario Kart at least! :P

                  • +1

@ReaperX22: So's mine actually, but regular Mario however…

                • +2

@Munki: Depends on which Mario, maybe? My wife doesn't generally play games. We tried It Takes Two and she hated it. She likes Overcooked but finds it too stressful and too much yelling.

Back in the day, though, I got her a DSi because she wanted the Brain Training thing. I used that as a gateway drug to get her to try some other games. One of which was New Super Mario Bros. She LOVED that. Played it obsessively, completed 100% including finding all the coins etc. I've never seen her get anywhere near that into any other game, before or since.

    • Unravel Two is great as well! We finished that after It Takes Two, love the music, environment and the storytelling without storytelling, but It Takes Two was more 'fun' IMO.

  • +2

    Great great game. Highly recommended.

  • +6

Fine, now games want you to have a girlfriend too.

    • +5

Oh this is what an unpopular opinion looks like.

Not a fan of Amy Schumer nor do I find her remotely funny, but this game was great for me (and by the loads of praises it gets, a lot of other people too). You don't even have to play with a partner. It's just a fun game.

    • Awful take

  • +1

Fantastic game with above expectation game mechanics and fun.

  • +2

If you haven't already.. find a friend and play this game.. its a one and done thing so all good but so much fun

  • +3

    Really good game.

    Spoiler alert:

    The elephant scene though.

    • +1

      I've heard about this 😬

      insert crying face here

excellent game, easily ranked in my top 5.

My partner and i have played it through multiple times.

  • +5

Some of the best, most creative cooperative gameplay in years coupled with some of the most insufferable, cliche dialogue and characters who make some extremely stupid, poorly thought out decisions.

    • Not sure if talking about It Takes Two, or a recent footy game? 🤔

  • +1

Whats a cheap controller for PC that you guys can recommend for me and partner to use? TIA

    • All of the game console controllers are Bluetooth these days. Any ps3/4, xbone or switch controllers are fine if you have them. If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth, adapters are cheap. I stream my games to a Google TV device, connect my controllers to that and play on the TV.

    • Take a look at some xbox one / xbox 360 controllers, they just plug and play via USB into a PC.
The xbox one controller (original) can also be connected via bluetooth (assuming your PC has bluetooth, otherwise can get a USB adapter).
Check out facebook marketplace/gumtree, for some reason they're hard to find new now. Only cost $30 in 2019.
Beware of some third party controllers, need to lookup reviews for them if they are decent quality and work with PC.

  • Too hard in parts. Daughter lost interest in is as could not pass some sections. Good to be challenging, but not that hard.

  • It's showing as 50% off = $24.97 for me. Am I doing something wrong?
