[QLD, NSW] $1 Coffee Melt (Usually $2) @ 7-Eleven

210

Who doesn’t like fresh ground coffee poured over icecream?

This spider like coffee affogato is usually $2 and very soon I’m told will increase in price along with normal hot coffee at 7/11 Australia wide..

Lucky for us it’s now confirmed in QLD (unsure of other states) the POS is scanning these for $1 !
This is not part of any promotion, just a simple price error and it’s been like this for days in QLD.

Breakfast is served

7/11 OS looks like that TI-82 calculator game from 1999 DopeWars

      Great game!

  • part of the promo :)

    • It doesn’t show on the app, are there other promos not listed?

      • It’s part of the monthly promo with the usual 2 for 8, 3 for 11 ones

  • 1 dollar 7-eleven ice cream for breakfast… nah, we don't have an obesity problem, nothing to see here

    • Tbh I'd be more concerned if someone was to go to 7/11 for sushi or a salad.

    • Turn the third letter of your name upside down and that's what you can wear after you've fully taken advantage of this deal 😛

  • It was advertised for $1 at one of the Town hall NSW locations. Been that way for a while.

How did you get a photo of the screen on the other side of the counter?

Friend who works there sent me it.

  • i think it's been like that for a month here in Sydney metro. $1 sticker on the freezer for the melts.
glad to see Melbourne catching up to Sydney.

  • Had one a few days ago in Vic for $1, there was a sign on the freezer advertising the price

  • Yea well they say costs and stuff are high to raise the coffee to $2 yet they can do this…

    • If they make their $3 large coffee $4 or more, better to go to a cafe or have one at home.

    • I remember buying a coffee for $1 and a bacon and egg roll for $2.50 at south yarra train station VIC years back after they raised the prices and I was pissed off both the coffee and b&e went up 50c each.
Now it’s hard to find a b&e for under $6 and a barista coffee under $4.
I can’t even make both at home for under $3.50
Guess this dislike for inflation comes with age, hopefully we increase rates harder and faster to stop this current bout of hyperinflation.

  • From their email:

We will have to increase the price in October this year, for the first time in 13 years.

From Tuesday 4 October the price of our coffee will increase with a regular cup to cost $2. There will also be price increases across Slurpee, with a large to cost $1.50, along with Iced Coffee, and Hot Chockee.

Well… a 50% increase seems far more than inflation tbh

    • The $1 Coffee was always a loss leader.

      • From a FMCG perspective there is no way it's a loss leader… used to work for the fried birds company, the raw cost of a large soft drink is about $0.45, an instant coffee is about $0.25, grind bean coffee at most $0.45-0.55. You add on labour (a dedicated crew can fill 60-100 cups per hour) say @60 so labour about $0.40, not making a lot of profit but never have any actual "Loss". At there you have to grab cup and press button, so at most the labour will be filling beans & cups.

  • coffee melts are $1 in Perth WA as well. there was a sticker on top of the freezer advertising iced coffees and coffee melts as $2 but another sticker on the other side saying coffee melts $1

  • $1 at South Yarra in Victoria, too, but the signage says $2 (and there were only a handful left).
