Trying to Determine Rangehood Model

Hey OzB Brainstrust,

I was wondering if I could pick everyone's brains. I own a property that has this rangehood installed in it and I was wondering if anyone knew what brand/model it was? (There are no identifying tags etc as far as I could see on it).

I've tried the good ol' Google but haven't had much luck so I figured I'd throw the question out here to see if anyone can help me out.

Welcome any assistance!

Cheers!

  • If you remove the filter you may find a sticker or tag on the inside with the details.

lol nah mate, I got that covered.

    • I did that a while ago and couldn't see any stickers from memory. I'll have to double check that when I'm next there.

Looks like a Robinhood Slimline model of some sort.

    Here's a very similar one's manual: https://manualzz.com/doc/35742235/robinhood-sl-slimline-slid…

    Here's a newer boxier-style version: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/parkville/cooktops-rangehood…

Page 6 on the Gumtree one seems to show a model sticker near the fan if you remove the filters, might be worth trying: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/P8UAAOSwrkxiiEy0/s-l800.webp

Another similar one although dual filter: https://www.stancash.com.au/robinhood-600mm-compact-canopy-r…

So quite possibly an older model of these.

    • Ahhh champion, that's extremely helpful. I'll have to double check that the next time I'm here.

  • Does it even extract air anywhere, or just pass it through a filter? How effective are these little things with getting fat and smoke out of the air compared to bigger units that pipe the air out somewhere. I see these things installed under cabinets, so the air has nowhere to go but out back into your kitchen, damaging your tiles and griming up your ceilings over time. And I bet those filter things need cleaning more often.

    • Unfortunately, this one doesn't extract air externally. It's a model that just does internal recirculation so yes, the filter does need regular cleaning/maintenance. In this case, it's in a unit and it wasn't installed in a way with a duct to get the air out. Need to try and make the best of it.
