  • anyone recommending this please? reviews said great but awkward shape?

Its a good price. Paid a bit more than this a couple of years ago.
Use it for 3-4 day camping trips and for parties at home. Keeps things ice cold for days. Very solid and can be used as a seat. The shape is actually preferable for me, especially when having to pack into the car for camping trips.

      • Could this keep something like ice-cream (with ice / ice-packs of course) for a couple of days in a tent in the summer sun?

        • I can't say sorry. I've not tried packing ice creams in it. I'd say if you prep it beforehand by dumping a bag of ice in it the day before then there's a good chance ice cream would stay frozen for a least a day or two.

It's a good unit for keeping things cold, but it won't keep ice-cream or iceblocks frozen for a couple of says in summer.
With large blocks of ice it keeps food at safe temps, but won't keep things frozen for long. It's more like a fridge, rather than a freezer.

        thank you for your reply.

      • Same experience as Suey. Very handy seat or an extra flat surface when camping, and works well in the car with being able to pack things easily on top of it and all around it with its predictable shape

I use a larger variant in car boot for cool storage grocery shopping for my cold items like dairy, milk, meats. Pack it with a couple of flat ice packs and it stays cool all day in the car boot. Don't have to worry about perishables going off during the day.

Can get smelly though, so make sure you keep it cleaned and air it out every so often.

    $209 at Tentworld & Snowy's - $379 regular price is bogus.

    • snowys is great. wish we had one in tas, even with shipping they're still cheaper than everything local.

I thought this was a laser printer.

  • I've got the 33l model which I mainly use to hot-hold smoked meat before serving.
The insulation on these really isn't that thick. Good for a day, but I'd look to something else for a week's camping.
