Hi all,
Saw this on 3x Camel for $14. Appears to be price matching Bing Lee.
Not a bad price if you're in need of some WFH headphones
Then stop doing it. Continually buying shit you don't need is bad for your savings and the environment. Plus you're taking stock away from people who do actually need it.
You can easily cancel Amazon orders before they ship. How about you go do that.
Damn this got serious pretty quick lol
Just sick of these "it's cool to be stupid with money" comments.
@PainToad: It's not cool it's an addition
addition
Addiction or "addition" (like comment just for laughs).
I'm here just for the laughs.
@netjock: 1 + 1
No we don't. You and everyone else who has a hoarding problem buy shit they don't need. It's an addiction and you need to go get help for it.
well it always come in handy…
Here comes the fun police 👮♂️
Need a hug mate?
Agree, it's less of a bargain buying a lot of shit you don't need, as well as the clutter and waste of resources as mentioned. It's better to save 100% than 20% or whatever and not let your money go on crap you don't need.
That's not the brag you think it is.
Thanks OP. Bought 2 after my current ones lost the padding. I've been WFH for 5 years now and these are by far the best headphones I have due to one reason. There's no noise cancelling which would otherwise block out your own voice while you are talking.
Looks like you haven’t tried good headset with real noise cancelling.
Any recommendations?
Plantronics Blackwire. For $65 on Amazon.
For this price range, damn good. Soft on ears and excellent noise cancelling.
For anyone wanting to test noise cancelling, test your call on ‘Teams’. And understand how others might hear you.
@PopCounty: Plantronics is good. That's what our call centre uses. Noise cancellation is decent enough and the headphones are quite light so they're comfortable if you need to use them all day.
We also have the Microsoft Lifechat which sound better IMO, but they're uncomfortable for long wear.
@PopCounty: Any recommendation on wireless? I picked up a cheap Soundpeats A7 because wireless is just so expensive and sometimes you don't want to catch and wire and rip it straight off your head.
Poly Voyager Focus, Jabra evolve2 .
@ily: +1 for Jabras
My main wfh headset is the Bose NC700 though.
The jabra is the backup always in my travel bag.
Noise cancelling does not block your own voice, maybe your cheap ones do.
Nosie cancelling on real headphones is amazing for WFH.
I've tried Razer Kraken and JLab Go Work Wireless Headset. Both don't seem quite right. If you've got a good one let me know as most are not that cheap.
If ur using ur own PC. Nvid broadcast with a 2000 or 3000 series gpu.
Is a bit strange when you can't hear your own voice, full noise cancelling is hardly required for WFH or teams calls etc. Half the time people can't hear me when using the Sony XM4.
Much prefer using the webcam mic and a speaker plugged in.
Anyway had something like these once at a workplace, recommend spending a bit more than cheapos, comfortable and block out enough)when at work is moreso when you need cancelling). The pair I had years ago may not even have had ANC, not sure if they've changed.
Jabra Evolve 40 UC Stereo Headset – Unified Communications Headphones for VoIP Softphone with Passive Noise Cancellation – 3.5mm Jack only – Black https://amzn.asia/d/hHiKK7i
Used to come with a desktop controller button thing, maybe not now
my work provided me sennheiser dw5065 (i think the retail is $500+) and its really good with noise cancelling for background (call centre). it also blocks yourself if you are whispering over the mic. i have bought microsoft modern wireless headset ($120+) but the noise cancelling not as good as sennheiser. i think what you pay is what you get. hope this helps.
You can buy new padding on eBay for a few bucks
I got theses headphones for my wife and she complained about them non-stop.
Her comments:
I got her the Logitech H390 instead, which seems much better to me.
Errr, not quite, I have these myself before work paid for a better set.
They don't creek.
They don't echo
The mute button is not on the ear-cup, its on the cord at the same spot as the volume control.
creek
I lol'ed
Up shit creek is what he meant
They echoed badly
This shouldn't happen because that is the point of having headset. No speaker and mic feed back.
He meant they ecreeked badly
They echoed badly (she could hear her own voice)
Maybe same thing.
Thanks op, grabbed one
Anyone have recommendations of a cheap-ish headset that won't make me look like I work in a call centre on Zoom calls 😅
EarPods
Whenever I have online meetings, I use the earpods which came with my iphone 6. They’re very good, no complaints.
Bluetooth earbuds
better off with wired earphones. Bluetooth earphones have terrible microphone sound quality compared to much cheaper wired options.
Bluetooth earphones have terrible microphone sound quality
Depends which brand and model.
@superforever: Well they asked for 'cheap-ish', and you won't find anything cheap or even near cheap with a decent microphone.
The microphones are still crap on many expensive earbuds.
@kapone: Some cheap-ish have reasonable microphone, like Soundpeats T2 and Mini Pro.
There is one coming up, the review is so good for voice calling "Elevoc Clear "

Samsung buds work great.
Any good recommendations for good headsets that still use 3.5mm. I need the ability to adjust equaliser due to high freq hearing loss and find that USB ones are not able to be adjusted by the sound card equaliser, hence a flattish sound or bass heavy sound does not work for me.
I got these ones https://www.kmart.com.au/product/on-ear-wired-headphones-bla… , quite good imho.
Research this. It may or may not suit your needs.
How about Sony ZX110 On-ear, Noise Cancelling Headphones, Black $35.80
https://www.amazon.com.au/Sony-MDRZX110NC-Noise-Cancelling-H…
Do they have a microphone?
Do they have a microphone?
I think no, sorry not the same as this Logitech.
lol no microphone according to amazon. Wouldn't go well in teams meetings.
Would this work with an Oculus Quest 2 headset? I'm not the fan of chunky gaming / over ear headphones.
yep, should work but not sure if the loop is big enough to go over the headset so you will have to put on the headphone first and then wear oculus - not sure how fitment is going to be. I usually use cheap wired earbuds but its not quite often i watch movies or shows on mine.
Thanks, like any other casual gamer I just want to berate my team mates in multiplayer
And their mothers?
Do these particular headphones work for mobile phones too?
The hard part is finding a phone with 3.5mm port
I have a Pixel 4a so it should work yes?
Yes it should work
Great thanks for the heads up, pulled the trigger on this deal
This seems to have a single 3.5mm plug which has the stereo headset & microsoft in the single plug.
This is typically used in phones, tablets, etc but I think desktop computers generally have seperate speaker & microphone sockets so I guess the mic wouldn't work in this scenario?
Mine at work has a single 3.5mm and it detects it's a headset.
Dammit keep buying things i dont need…
