The best price I've seen for 66W GaN 3-Port USB charger. Click on the 50% voucher, the discounted price will be shown at check-out page.

White version also at the same price.

I'm not sure it is a knock-off of some 66W charger or a rebrand of some ODM/OEM product. Can OzBargainers shed some light?

EDIT (21 aug 2022 8pm aest):

Have answer from Zyron rep (ibelievesyd):

Difference is same as between north pole and south pole. Zyron is a 100% Australian tax paying small business with 100% genuine SAA certifications. Heymix is a Chinese company that sells in Australia. Huwder is again Chinese company similar to Heymix but sits in China and ships worldwide.

The only product that Zyron and Heymix has in common is 66W charger which is also sold by Hyper Juice, US. Everyone sells OEM including Belkin, Alogic, Amazon Basics, etc. They just come from different factories.

Zyron's other chargers come from same factories as Baseus, Zendure, Alogic, etc. We don't sell those 20W 25W chargers that blasts often.

Do a search for previous deals and you will see why these are not the most sort after brand.

    • +4

Yeah. Op is not new member he has 634 post surely he read about heymix here

      • There was a person who was an OZB member for 6 years and still didn't know how Amazon delivery works.

    • +4

Being that guy. It's sought after.

Heymix have had some less favourable commentary, but are all their products fire prone? Even the GaN ones?

  • +5

IMO, one to avoid from both brands. The are a few too many reports of failure and one review mentioning it shorting out.

    • +2

      Agreed. Avoid. IMO.

      • -5

There seems to be a real campaign by some OzB users such as @Aureus and @ihfree and others neg voting every Heymix product they find.
Virtually all of their products have 4+ Amazon stars, but there they are hitting the neg button. I hope you guys aren't colluding as its quite interesting seeing how many of the people that neg vote Heymix have done it over and over again, even when the product is 4.5 stars.
If you read the OzBargain guidelines there's very specific reason to neg vote a product stating "Agreed. Avoid. IMO" is definitely not one of them.
In fact the second reason of the Inappropriate uses of negative vote is“Agree/Same” which is almost identical to what you stated.
As to why you are so motivated to neg vote every Heymix deal brings your motives into question. So why do you feel the need to down vote these products without even examing the product? Are you associated with a competitors brand? Are you being paid to down vote?
I usually wouldn't make such provocative accusations but I find it hard to believe that all 6 Heymix products that have appeared on OzBargain you have neg voted it even if it's got excellent reviews. The previous Heymix car chargers did not have one single 1 or 2 star review, so what did you do, you neg voted it. Hmmmmm!!

        • +2

No collusion, but very imaginative of you.

I have been pretty clear why I neg HEYMIX posts and my view is consistent.

Don't know why you are going through this much effort to defend a brand with known quality control issues.

          • +1

@Aureus: That's a complete nothing answer, which is my point, you hit neg over and over but do not state anything of substance.
BTW I'm not trying to defend Heymix, they seem like a mediocre brand, neither good nor bad, but your determination to hit the neg button seems really unnecessary. There's so much crap products that come through OzBargain yet you seem obsessed with Heymix and will neg them no matter how positive the reviews are. As far as your "my view is consistent" statement, yes I agree, you repeatedly make fire jokes or ditto other peoples neg comments, but that's not a consistency to hang your hat on. OzBargain laid out a guideline on neg voting to try and stop people doing exactly what you're doing, neg voting but not saying why, neg voting and making jokes of products "Hard to believe considering according to Ozbargain HEYMIX is a great brand" or for a Heymix charger rated at 4.5 stars "I will sign it. Dangerous junk" No, you haven't been "pretty clear" on anything.

            • @PukeyLuke: I am not obsessed. I am negging for the same reason that the other guys are negging.

              "Issue with product"

Lots of people on Ozbargain have reported issues. Other people on other sites have reported similar issues. All of their products are just branded OEM chargers.

If you like shit chargers go buy them and enjoy. Don't get so offended about negs.

            • -1

@PukeyLuke: Hey PukeyLuke. Another person has negged this deal. You better message them quickly and accuse them of collusion. Obviously another member of the secret collusion club because there is no way any of these bad experiences could be real considering HEYMIX's 5 star reviews.

              • +1

                @Aureus:

I am not obsessed. I am negging for the same reason that the other guys are negging.

That is about the worst reason to neg, because they did it too, let's hope "the other guys" don't start doing drugs!!
I am asking only one thing from you and that is if you hit the neg button then clearly explain with proof/links as to why
this company (not just product) deserves you stalking them and hitting the neg button every time you see
the word Heymix. Stating that they're "shit chargers" and expecting people to believe you is not a solid reason.
Saying that "All of their products are just branded OEM chargers" is also not a reason, you either don't know what
OEM means or you've never noticed the countless other rebranded products that have been promoted on OzBargain.
I'm not saying you're wrong or asking/telling you to stop negging, I'm just asking for you to explain your neg vote as it is clearly laid out in the OzBargain voting guidelines; To vote negative you must first leave a comment with your reason. Please use negative votes
cautiously and sparingly, as they can often discourage others from contributing. It is often better to not vote instead.

The main reason you and "the other guys are negging" appears to be based on a review from Mary who absolutely rips into this Heymix charger, saying it caught fire etc, but on closer inspection there's 2 issues that cry foul.
The first two times she buys a Zyron product, she states that "Compact and powerful 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
A week later she buys another Zyron product and then states "In the new world of USB C, Zyron has nailed it!, 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐".
Then less than 2 months later what does she do after buying 2 fantastic Zyron GAN chargers,
Oh she buys the competitors Heymix GAN charger and Oh my goodness she says it literally blew up straight away.
But not only this, if you have an even closer look, she didn't even buy the product, it's the only purchase she made that does not state
"verified purchase"!! That has to be an incredibly dodgey review and you seem to believe it.

                • @PukeyLuke:

That is about the worst reason to neg, because they did it too, let's hope "the other guys" don't start doing drugs!!

I stopped reading your reply there. I didn't say I am negging because the other guys are also. I said I am negging for the same reason.

Not wasting any more time with your obsession. Have a cry to a mod if you want, otherwise move on.

                  • -2

                    @Aureus:

Obviously another member of the secret collusion

I am not obsessed. I am negging for the same reason that the other guys are negging

So just to get this out there, you don't see the irony of your comments?

                    • @PukeyLuke: There is no irony, you are just having a lot of trouble reading and comprehending my comment

                • +2

@PukeyLuke: Agree that Mary's review could be considered a little bit suspicious given the range of products she reviews but it is in line with other reviews and other products from Heymix.

                  From the 2 star review:

Disconnected the charger and left it plugged in to the wall. After an hour or so there was a very strong burning smell and the charger got extremely hot. The charger was immediately unplugged however it no longer works and once plugged in again, emits a strong burning smell.

If another brand is spammed on Ozbargain with low quality and poor safety, I'll gladly starting downvoting that.

Feel free to browse my voting history if you really want to analyse the whole Heymix voting situation. Here's an example where I didn't feel a downvote was warranted.

        • +2

This is all personal opinion of the brand based on what I have read and experience buying other chargers.

Virtually all of their products have 4+ Amazon stars

A 4/5 is a bad average rating for a product. Given the way chargers work(Ideally: plug something in, it charges) it should be easy for chargers to be 4.5+. Many Heymix products are low rated compared to other chargers. There are other issues with the reviews such as low numbers of reviews, new products.

Once you dig into the reviews for Heymix, they have dangerous products which includes shorting, smoke, overheating. In addition to these reviews, there are a high number of reports of DOA/early failure. Given the high number of these products with these reviews, I think the brand is one to avoid. Personally, I don't care who else upvotes or downvotes, but I think each Heymix deal should have at least one neg mentioning it to serve as a warning for Ozbargain members and encourage them to research the product further.

I have looked at a lot of chargers over the past few years with the transition from micro-usb to USB-C. I have never seen some of the issues reported in Heymix reviews on more reputable chargers - shorting, smoking, heat, burn marks, coil whine(if you run a search on Ozbargain for usb-c charger coil whine, it appears Heymix is most common). IIRC, there are also previous reports of being asked to remove negative reviews in exchange for refunds.

As to how I reached the downvote/opinion. Each reason stands on its own as a reason for a neg IMO.

IMO, one to avoid from both brands.

          • +1

@ihfree: So thanks for providing a link to something that concerns you about this seller. But I'm not sure if you read my "Mary" comment below and above but you seem to have jumped onto the exact same review that everyone else quotes. Here are Mary's 3 and only 3 reviews
The first two times she buys a Zyron GAN charger she states that "Compact and powerful 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
A week later she buys another Zyron GAN charger and then states "In the new world of USB C, Zyron has nailed it!, 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐".
Then less than 2 months later what does she do after buying 2 fantastic Zyron GAN chargers?
Oh she buys the competitors Heymix GAN charger and Oh my goodness she says it literally blew up straight away.
But not only this, if you have an even closer look, she didn't even buy the product, it's the only purchase she made that does not state
"verified purchase"! Do you honestly think this is a genuine review? She buys two Zyron GAN chargers gives more praise to Zyron than a born again Christian does to Jesus, then proceeds to talk about hellfire and brimstone when she buys the Heymix charger, literally!! Which turns out she didn't actually buy and she doesn't state how she got this charger. Doesn't this make your spidey sense tingle?
BTW you state that chargers should have at least 4.5 stars yet you down voted a Heymix charger that met your minimum standard to be good? You also make a comment on that same page that the Heymix chargers "and generally low ratings(<4)" even though you appear to know that is not true by your comments above.

            • +1

              @PukeyLuke:

              Mary

Covered already in my other comment. Look at the 2 star review - another potentially dangerous failure with a less suspicious profile. These reviews are common across many of the Heymix products which are posted here.

You also make a comment on that same page that the Heymix chargers "and generally low ratings(<4)" even though you appear to know that is not true by your comments above.

              Also covered in my reply:

There are other issues with the reviews such as low numbers of reviews

There would have been 9 (or possibly less) reviews at time of posting.

BTW you state that chargers should have at least 4.5 stars yet you down voted a Heymix charger(amazon.com.au) that met your minimum standard to be good?

High average ratings obviously don't tell the whole story. Low average ratings are a red flag which would warrant further investigation.

        • +4

Don't fall for the illusion. if you dig in Heymix's reviews, you will find same buyers posting 5 star ESSSSSSSSAYS on almost every heymix product.

@ihfree: Oh dear, again you comment before understanding what you're talking about.
They don't "own a lot of tech", they are paid to review a lot of tech, that is what the Vine Program is about.
No company is forced to be reviewed within the Vine program, but it would appear that both
Heymix and Zyron have volunteered their products for review. it's a smart move, but only if you have a good product.
You @ihfree continually show how motivated you are in your bias against Heymix, why is this??
Just to repeat I have no love nor hate for Heymix, I've never up or down voted them.
I just don't like seeing what appears to be very motivated crew of OzBargainers continually attack a company and
repeatedly put out false and misleading information.
No doubt you will be there at the next Heymix post, downvoting them as you have with every single Heymix post over the past few weeks.

              • @PukeyLuke: I'd honestly be extremely surprised if that is an account associated with the Vine Program. That account has huge red flags.

The dodgy stock photo and the low number of reviews (69) make me think the account is simply named "Vine Reviewer." The quality of their reviews is also lacking.

Typically vine reviews come from the reviewers account and you'd have a label and text to indicate that it is a vine review.

Maybe things are different for Australian Amazon.

As for the relation with Heymix/Zyron, it's neither here nor there.

I just don't like seeing what appears to be very motivated crew of OzBargainers continually attack a company and
repeatedly put out false and misleading information.

Fair enough. I still think the brand should be avoided after this conversation. If I didn't know much about chargers, there are things I would want to know - negs are an effective way of bringing attention to issues.

Thanks for putting the effort into challenging these votes even if we don't agree.

As for downvoting, I'll stick to roughly this rule moving forward:

                • Low number of ratings/new products - based on brand rep
                • Products with verified reviews containing major issues - smoking, overheating, sparking
                • Products with verified reviews containing a high percentage of DOA/early failure

I'll throw a more informative statement together and make it clear where the reviews are coming from.

          • -3

@iwantthatdeal: Wow, where do I start? The reason you may find "5 star ESSSSSSSSAYS" from Vine reviewers is that is their job to give a detailed review.
You seem to have gone to a lot of effort to have a go at them but not realise that's what Vine reviewers are meant to do.
Here is a link that explains the job of a top reviewers and Vine reviewers.
These people are vetted by Amazon, who appear to be making a genuine effort to rid Amazon of fake and paid reviews.
It would appear that Heymix has volunteered to have their products reviewed by Vine Reviewers, which comes at considerable risk. The following is a paragraph from the article, you should read it before jumping on the Heymix bashing train.
Be wary of signing up with them, however. With their exclusivity comes their brutality. Vine Program reviews are known to regularly give out 2 or 3 stars. Unless you are confident with your products, we suggest that you carefully consider this route, as it may make or break your products.
All you've done is shown that Heymix has put their products for scrutiny by the most respected reviewers on Amazon
as to the "Vine reviewer posts Negative life threatening review" what the hell are you talking about?? Were you high when you wrote that?!

I have two of these chargers in white, had them for six and a half months now. Both extensively used here and on overseas trips. I actually use one to charge MacBook Pro 16" as it is smaller than Apple's own power brick. I also have three of their smaller usb phone chargers, for 12+ months now, all work without issues and I still did not have to claim house fire on my insurance policy.

Heymix may have had issues with some of their other products in the past, but lets remember that Samsung and quite few laptop manufacturers had issues with their self combusting devices. Does that mean that all Samsung phones should be avoided?

      • You know about those issues because they are reputable brands or brands with a proper presence in Australia who follow product recall protocols.

Heymix or Heymix suppliers are not going to be offering a recall if there are issues.

        • -1

Why would you say that they "are not going to be offering a recall if there are issues."
That's just speculation based on your prejudice against Heymix, you have no proof of that, or do you?

          • +1

            @PukeyLuke: Of course it's speculation.

Still the challenge remains for anyone - find a reputable brand of charger which has issues like shorting, overheating, or smoking reported in its reviews.

These issues have also been posted by Ozbargain members.

  • Can vouch for the Baseus 2C+1A 65W PD PPS GAN 3 Pro charger(Functionality and reliability). Mainly using for laptop and ocassionally for mobiles and tablets.

Was available around this price an year back. Now prices are bit up and they introduced few more flashy color options.

Look for some deals on those or anker nano series.

I have a Heymix 1C+4A 60W desktop charger. Still working fine. But build quality wise nowhere near Baseus. I think the innards also will have the differences which affects long term reliability.

        • Turn it to the side cos it keeps shorting it out

What are you basing that on, do you have proof of that, or are you just saying stuff??
As the reviews on Amazon are 4.2 stars, solid but no stellar.
If you are basing it on the only 1 star review on Amazon, if you looked into it a little more closely you'll notice that "Mary" (the only single 1 star reviewer)
bought a "Zyron Powastone 120W GaN 2 Charger" less than 3 months earlier and she gave it 5 stars and described it as "In the new world of USB C, Zyron has nailed it!" Multiple models of Heymix chargers have major quality issues and some are unsafe. It's better to spend slightly more and get a better quality charger, which will be much less likely to die quickly. Despite the people who insist otherwise, the very large amount of negative reviews indicate that Heymix is a brand to be avoided.

The following is taken from Amazon reviews.

On first use I heard a loud bang followed by electrical smoke - I tried a second one and felt it getting hot straight away. Same cables and device on another brand charger work fine

It stop working for a few minutes and get super hot… Not recommended!

On first use I heard a loud bang followed by electrical smoke - I tried a second one and felt it getting hot straight away. Same cables and device on another brand charger work

They are dangerous as well. Apparently, this is NOT a FAIL-SAFE mode design. One of the chargers just stopped working while charging a battery in a Shure BT2 Bluetooth transceiver for Shure earphones. And, the worst of all, damaged the Bluetooth unit.

Breaks so easily and are dangerous my child got an electric shot from this product

I liked the price, i was charging my ipad air 2 out of now it shorted. I read about this happening on ozbargain but i didn't think it would actually happen to me.

When super fast charging, the adaptor outputs a ridiculously loud hi pitch noise, unbearable to be around when charging, it shouldn't be doing this at a price tag like that

High pitched coil whine when plugged in and at times when removing or placing in the socket there would be sparks. They seemed to sit loose in the socket too. I threw all three out.

These are very loud. High pitched squealing electronic noise from all 4 that I received. I cannot use them in the bedroom because the sound drives me nuts at night. Would never buy something from this brand in the future. If you're old or have deteriorated hearing you probably won't have an issue.

Of the four of these that I received, straight out of the package, only two of them functioned in any capacity, with the other two not passing power to any device, using any cable in either of the ports.

Additionally, of the two that did work, one of them causes the device it's connected to to restart every short while, whilst also sometimes making the device appear to be chagrining, then not chagrining back and forth over and over again.

Ultimately, you get what you pay for with chargers this cheap, and I personally wish I had have spent the same amount on these four for one that is decent quality.

Should have listen to other reviewers regarding high pitch noise from the units.
Received 4 units and all making high pitch noise when plugged in to the power outlets raising concern of fire hazard. So far 2 units stopped working completely and the rest is up and down so stop using it to be on a safe side.

They work OK, but make constantly changing high pitched noises (like super cheap switchmode transformers… which may be what they are) which is loud enough to be heard in any quiet room, especially bedrooms. Therefore, they are unusable for my needs.

  • Received the product today, great build and very compact, charged both my dell laptop, phones and tablet with no issue. Guess time will tell if it is a decent product.

  • Works fine. I have bought 4 different heymix chargers so far. No issues till now. YMMV.

  • This particular 66w model may be ok.
I have 2 Minix Neo P1 working fine.
    2 Heymix working fine.
However the Zyron version was DOA and replacement went faulty 6 months later.

As mentioned elsewhere, Hyperjuice is selling the same as well.

  • Both the black and white versions are still available for 50% off.

  • Been using various Heymix chargers including about 4 of the 66W ones listed above all have been working great with no issues including running at full 65w output to charge my notebook.

I do agree some of Heymix QC might be an issue in that I have had a faulty product before (unable to negotiate charge rate on one of the USB ports on the 120W power board product) but Heymix sent a replacement which I got the next day and been working great since (I have 3 of the power boards)… so far so good (fingers crossed)
