No adjustable arms, no lumbar support, not full mesh. May be right for someone else but not my cup of tea

    • Sounds like you need a Steelcase Leap V2.

      • Any ergoduke around the 250-300 dollar mark would do those things.

        But yes, I do.

      Sorry but what?

      Has adjustable lumbar support

Has height and reach adjustable arms.

I'm currently sitting in an office chair from 2007, op-shop, paid $19. True foam rubber w/material covering. I work from home and would say this chair has thousands of hours of sitting— & I'm a 182cm lady. It's the same as the day I got it. OW "used to" sell these, but no more. I think it was called, "Nova".

  • How would this compare to this at same price, also at Officeworks? Specs seem similar, this has a mesh back https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/buro-alto-…

Looks like it has the same feature set but with a mesh back.

  • Thanks OP, I think that this is a good deal. For those that can be bothered, you can go instore and order and pay for this, so I used the families fly buy cards and went to Coles and got this deal, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718567, shaving a bit extra off the price.

I grabbed the Buro Vela Medium Back without armrests last week at my local Officeworks. Been using it for a week now and been happy with it, especially for the price. I'm certainly up near the weight limit for this chair but it feels solid and is comfortable to sit on all day - the seat cushion is firmish, but that works for me. There was only one other chair that felt close in my local Officeworks and it was mid $300's for a similar style.

I tried plenty in store and the Buro was well ahead of others for comfort and support in a similar price range (which makes sense as it's evidently on clearance - which wasn't so obvious in store). It's probably worth mentioning that while it's fabric rather than mesh it's still an open-backed chair so hopefully won't get too hot in summer. The plus side is the fabric feels more supportive than mesh models for me.

This post has inspired me to grab one of the high back models as well to compare and contrast (along with seeing if the armrests are worthwhile as well).

  • Is this chair suitable for short people (162cm)

    • +1

The medium back is probably the better option in that case (plus it's $50 less as well) - https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/buro-vela-…

      • How comfy are these chairs, they are sold out at every Officeworks near me so I can't try any :(

        • +2

For me they were comfortable enough to buy a second one, so that says something. The seat cushion is reasonably thick but still firm. The seat back is decently supportive with an adequate adjustable lumbar support.

I use it for working from home and still feel good after eight hours so can't really ask for more than that.

          • @gibspmuh: Hmm… I guess it wouldn't hurt buying one

          • +2

@gibspmuh: Just got the chair, its a little bit too high but a footrest would probably solve that problem. Might need a headrest as well
