This toothpaste is 240g, larger than the regular 200g one, and cheaper than other toothpastes in this size, good value in term of size/price. I am using it now, smells great.

  • I tried putting this in my cavity and it didn't seem to protect it. At all.

    • You don’t protect cavities. You need to remove it.

  • So what is the consensus, it is worth paying more for Colgate Total?

    • Not worth paying more.
The toothpaste isn't doing the cleaning, it is the brushing that cleans. It mainly masks the smell and add some comfort to brushing.
I have tried the expensive toothpaste, to various brands including Colgate, to just Saltwater. They are more of less the same.
The humble Salt water cleans better and provide as good protection as any commercial tooth paste.
Salt water doesn't mask the smell nor provide that small comfort while brushing.

I would spend $3 Dollars on tooth paste for a few months worth of small comfort.

Don't spend too much on toothpaste, use the saved money on Floss.

Toothpaste has abrasives in it to aid in cleaning the plaque alongside brushing, additionally it has additives such as fluoride which aid in protecting the mouth from bacterial growth.

Basic tooth paste is definitely worth it. Salt water is no where near as effective

        • Im George Washington, if i didnt use toothpaste i would have no teeth left

  • Anybody else think the taste of this new formulation for this Colgate (regular flavour blue one), is much worse. We used this for years but now it does not taste good.

    • +2

This is not the blue one, its pure white and smells fresh

    • Blue one, puke.
