Hi OzB do any of you know of any good deals on deep cycle batteries (around 120ah). Not looking at lithium yet as I don't want to upgrade my charger which is an older redarc DC -DC 1240 model.
I see the king's brand are on sale but I'm not sure of the quality of these.

Yep go Kings all the way. Good price, pretty reliable. I've since scrapped mine though and gone Lithium. Whenever you decide to make the change you'll ask why you never did so sooner!
Thanks, yes it's certainly on the cards as an upgrade but I will likely be upgrading my caravan so I will look at it then.
If my charger had thee right algorithm I'd get one now.
most LFP need a higher float charge than SLA, so there is no problem using an SLA charger, and many LFP state this in their description.
However using a SLA charger you will only get about 70% of the rated capacity, but it won't damage the pack in anyway
Yeah I guess there isn't any point trying if I'm going to lose 30% capacity.
I had a Kings 120ah AGM and it was fine, never had any problems with it camping.
