  • ummm Intel® Pentium® Core 2 Duo B950………… isn't that quite old?

    • +1

It is with technology updating daily but really supporting all USB 3.0 and DDR3 isn't that bad.

      Running 64 Bit aswell.

    • Not old. B950 is Sandy Bridge. Core 2 Duo…. that's not the name for it lol. Its simply Pentium B950.

      • The Kogan description is incorrect (it says Core 2 duo).

I think the confusion comes from the fact that Intel calls any "budget version" of a new CPU a pentium. The Core 2 duo architecture ones were effectively core2duo with less L2 cache. Now there are Sandy Bridge budget versions which are also called Pentium. So confusing.

  • Its not too bad

If you're not gaming its all you will need.

Dick smith have had this model on special for $399-449 in the past.
Now replaced with a newer Asus with a 6 cell battery and 500gb Hdd

So, what are the screen h x v pixel counts?

I think CPU & screen details were left out on purpose.

Omitted info suggests crappy specifications, or, if you prefer: economy level features.

I'm tempted to NEG this deal…

They're right there on the "specs" page.
      "
      Display

      Panel Size
      15.6"
      Panel Type
      LED
      Resolution
      1366 x 768
      "

      That's exactly what I'd expect in a low-end 15.6" laptop.

Negging a cheap product for having features appropriate for its price point would hardly be fair…

  • Point of Fact-Gap:

Word & Excel -starter- editions are NOT "ready to use out of the box"

(They require a user agreement & install step for each one; also - as PowerPoint is NOT included, you've got to find, download & install MS's PowerPoint player free, but it takes time to take these extra steps…)

    • ??

It says it comes preloaded with Win 7 (ie users dont need to install their own OS), and is therefore ready to use out of the box - what point are you making exactly?

If you can find another $150, I reckon this is a much better deal for a budget laptop:

    • WiFi N and bluetooth, but no USB 3.0

  • I just bought a pre-built Lenovo E520 for the same price.

15.6", 320gb. Admittedly it's only 2gb DDR3, but RAM is so cheap these days. :)

Cant find many of the cheap laptops like the past year. Does anyone know where I can get a core i3 processor for $400 range?
