Vodafone Motorola Moto E7 64GB/4GB Grey $40, E7 Power 32GB/2GB $19 @ Woolworths (Limited Stores)

480

Woolies really trying to push these out the door now. Not at every store, much more E7s around than E7 Powers.
See stock locator at links below to find stock (try entering different suburb if barely any stores load, and can be wrong so calling before going to confirm isn't the worst idea):

E7 64GB/4GB
E7 Power 32GB/2GB

Can be unlocked for just ~$6.20 on eBay.

      What's stopping you ?

    • +14

If you believe in yourself, you will be able to buy it.

      • +6

        It's all mindset really.

      • believe in the heart of the stockcards

  • +2

If you can find one, I believe it's in store purchase only, no C&C

  • +3

    None in Qld.

    • Quick play with the site says there is stock of E7 in Woodford, Maleny, Gympie, Gympie Southside QLD.

Did you hear that from Woolies staff? When I went to find a Realme C21 back in April they told me there was none left anywhere in SA, which was wrong.

      • +1

        Woolies stock system sux.

I tried last time this was posted, and all 3 stores showing stock, had none.

    • I got a $20 one in Rocky. The staff appeared to hesitate to take it out under the desk.

      • I admire his right attitude.

  • says stock in Baxter (VIC), if anyone is in the area.

  • Heidelberg (vic) says in stock, but cannot add for pickup

  • MicroUSB charging port means no deal.

    • +1

      at sub $40 though?

      • +1

Should have usbc gen2 minimum. 😂

    • +3

these are USB-C. i have both

      • +1

        YES, E7 4/64 is USB-C

    • -1

Yeah cables are like SUPER expensive ….. /s

    • USB C charging port, but they have a weird quirk where they won't recognise a USB C - USB C cable, only USB C - USB - A.

  • Has anyone ever successfully unlocked their phone via an ebay link like that?

    • With much older phones yes sure

    • +1

Yes, I used the same Ebay link to unlock the Moto E7 about a month ago. Code arrived within 24 hours and included instructions to unlock. Worked first go and didn’t have any issues.

    • +4

yes i did last week about $6

i went to so many stores last time this deal was posted. website said they had stock; went in store and none in stock. why does no one at woolies answer their phones?

    • +1

why does no one at woolies answer their phones?

      You answered your own question!

      none in stock

      • why would it ring in the first place?

        • So they can all avoid answering it :-)

          • @Borg: ring, ring, why don't you give me a call?

            • @tdw: Ring, ring, the happiest sound of them all

    • Which store you went that has no stock?

    • +5

Did you read the description? and use the "Check stock in our stores" link?

  • -2

Plenty E7s around. Just a very meh phone.

    • +1

keep in mind it is $40. not even nokia dumb phones can be had for $40 these days

    • +1

Where's another place to get one sub-$20? Or a better phone for the price?

Need a temporary phone that can just do absolute basics.

      • Telstra booth it's free of charge

        • As in a pay-phone? Won't work for my needs.

  • no stock called few stores in perth

  • +2

    This is great for Retroarch..

  • Might be good for Scrypted as an alternative to RPi's.

    • +1

Is that still available for the Android platform? No app now and there don't appear to be mentions on the Scrypted site

      • That's surprising to hear. Clockworkmod was touting that as the main selling point for Scrypted. I run it on an RPi but always thought it was neat you could run it on Android.

  • +1

Just returned the e7. I think I expected too much.

    • +4

Can't you check Ozbargain with it?

      • +1

I have my iPhone for that.

  • +3

    No nfc

    • What? Next you're going to tell me it doesn't have WiFi 6E.

  • +1

Is e7 or e7 power better

    • +3

definitely the e7. having that extra battery capacity of the 'power' probably comes in handy because it's just so damn slow. no joke, even opening the settings feels like an eternity. but it's a very nice blue…

    • The E7 over the Power, but if its for young kids, $20 is hard to pass up as an emergency phone and it works but its slow, so pateince

  • Gee, I paid $99 for my E7 at Woolies a few months back in early June and now they’re down to $40.

  • +1

Nothing to see here folks, please move along

  • Both showing as out of stock

  • here are the specs….. release date was Dec. 2020

  • Got the last e7 in Cottesloe

    • lucky, they told me yesterday night that they do not have any! lol

      • They probably didn't look very hard. It was right in the back corner of the cabinet.

        • Did you help to look?

          • @ChaLuo: of course i did. had to know how many more were left.

  • +1

Word of warning, these phones have a "feature" where they won't recognise a USB C - USB C cable (for charging or data transfer).
    USB A - USB C is fine.

  • +1

Bought 1 in wagga wagga that came with $40 Vodafone starter sim

  • I have the phone E7 power from the $99 deal, coming from ZTE Blade 112, works fine, great back up at least,
large battery, works as wireless hotspot well, but, cant get the USB tethering going, i assume it is the cable.
You really cant complain for the price unless nothing is better.

Biggest problem, me learning to use it.

    • Can you run any app on the e7 power? like facebook or tiktok?

      • yes, andriod play app store has all your apps, most like these are free (but you need to sign up/in)

4gb on the E7 has enough ram to flick between 3-5 apps fast.

  • You can get a vodafone $125 50% off 150gb unlimited 12 month prepaid from woolworths or
if you want unlimited data, felix mobile $35 a month

  • +1

It took some doing but these phones are still in stock but damn you have to look for them! I got mine @woodford,qld WWs, I also saw Malaney WWs also has stock E7 4gb/64gb

Bonus I had a 10% off saving that I recouped a $4 discount, so $36 (plus fuel for the drive from Bribie) but hey, its a nice Saturday!

MINIREVIEW: E7 64GB/4GB ~ I had a 10% discount from car insurance so claimed it, the $40 turned into $36. Brought it home, gave it a drink of USB-C power and then turned on. First thing and only bad thing is I hate the asian voice saying 'moto' on startup but thats an easy fix under settings/advanced/sounds on boot>off. Go through the setup (wifi, no sim but it came with a vodafone $40 preapaid sim pk) ~ then to the auto app update… Nope, not done yet! Go into system updates and have to do 5 or 6 or so, one after the next and they take a while, then back into the app store and over wifi update all the apps AGAIN. Over 27 updates again and to start they wouldnt update, so reboot and yeah-haa that did the trick! So thats all done, now its already for its new owner to log into googles services and pop in a sim. As its going to be used on Vodafone/MNVO I might not even unlock it.

Speed is nice, I have the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion 5G 128GB on SALE for $330 and the E7 looks, feels and runs as well as its bigger brother but no 5G. Calling up the specs side by side, yes screen rez, cpu/gpu and ram/storage are all better on the Edge20 but not x10 times better and thats the price difference! Perfect for someone thats hard on mobiles (cheap is always best), not a HUGE gamer but for FB/Insta, talk and text and a nice big screen for the older of us *that now incs me ~ great buy!

  • As a back up phone for travel..using maps.me, Expedia and booking.com apps, web searches for news and sights to see etc on WiFi, would the 2gb E7 Power be acceptable, or for the extra $20 better to just get the E7? No insta or TikTok usage, occasional YouTube maybe.
    Cheers

e7 with the extra ram. you're on holiday, don't make things more frustrating for yourself.

    • +1

2gb ram really isn't enough on Android. I found that the OS uses about 2gb before any apps are open.

On my galaxy s7 with 4gb RAM, 1.7gb is used on a clean install with no third party apps.

My current phone has 16gb RAM, 8.5gb available after fresh boot (with a bunch of apps installed), so I would recommend 8gb RAM for Android if you want a consistently smooth experience.

      • What phone do you use (16GB RAM)?

        • +1

S21 Ultra 512gb model has 16gb RAM. The S22 tops out at 12gb, Samsung's cost cutting

  • Down to $29 for E7 and $10 for E7 Power at remaining stores
