130MB/sec is fine, but I'm guessing that these things write at a fraction of that
Ah yes https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1547782-REG/sandisk_s…
40MB/s write, so more like 3.5 hours at full speed. This drive really isn't fine.
Sometimes you need small and cheap - speed isn't a big deal. A 512GB NVMe SSD would be twice the price.
I agree. I think someone should only get these if they need something that's less expensive (or super portable, I suppose). I'd love to hear other reasons why people buy them.
Windows 11 boot drive for my Lenovo 14inch Laptop that has un-upgradable emmc 64gb storage drive with no m.2 or sata connectors lolz
It's kinda hard to get excited about these anymore now that portable nvme is available. I know, not everyone has 2.5GB/s+ connectors but isn't 130MB/s painfully slow these days?
It would take an hour to fill this at the full theoretical transfer rate, by which time - if it could maintain that 'speed' - it would likely be on fire.
I don't know…maybe I'm just hooked on speed. I want my life back!
