Stop Gap Solution for Space to Get You through

hi everyone

you lot were probably asked before but cant remember but

was wondering what are the clues that it may be time to move to own place or have own proper shed (not just a tiny little one) and what could you do as a stop gap solution until you can afford to buy your own and not have to pay as much to rent as to buy and not be able to do what you want to place and possibly have to shift at any time.

am wanting to have a proper shed (not just a tiny little one) with all the tools setup (proper benches/welding eqipment/paint room/storage areas just to name a few) but am realising that the place that am living at isnt big enough and the person that owns it who also lives there will probably stay there whole life and its only fair to pay your own way.

just feel that the shed at the residence while is ok isnt big enough and just trying to do best with what have got until the real thing happens and what am already doing is as close as am going to get for a number of years because of cost of everything today.

with the money that am on there probably wont be much left to have a life by time you take out for bills and stuff so its either run a property and have nothing left to have a life or be able to have a life but not have your own work area.

same goes for having own space and privacy, to get that what would be a stop gap solution that doesnt cost heaps that wont possibly close at anytime just to get you through until the real thing happens.

youre just at the stage in your life where you are needing something of your own and your just doing best you can with what you got until things can change.

what would be a stop gap solution for everything that doesnt cost heaps until things can change.

was brought up to try and make do with what you have until things change.

when the grandparents go or go into aged care which at their age could be at anytime am going to be worse off especially with the shed than already am.

with the job which other posts will have it in more detail will it be a problem to take a couple detours if shop sells before having done all training.

thanks

TLDR … oh wait I have just seen your other posts!

sound like grand pa simpsons, random

One trick is to tell them stories that don’t go anywhere like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so I decided to go to Morganville which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So, I tied an onion to my belt which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel. And in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ‘em. ‘Give me five bees for a quarter,’ you’d say. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah! The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.”

This makes way more sense then the actual post!

  • OP's "I" key is not working.

You know, you remind me of a poem I can't remember, and a song that may never have existed, and a place I'm not sure I've ever been to.

Looks like OP's is also known to be shonky:

What sad lives they lead that they go around posting their tripe on any forum

      • +4

It seems that the OP has a disability of some sort if you go through their posts on the Just Commodores forum. I'm inclined to believe it's cognitive going by what they post and their (lack of) responses to responses to their posts

        • Yeah, they need to talk to a human about this stuff. In the very least it's practice in talking to people (a skill most take for granted).

          • -2

@Crow K: Well then, perhaps you should take your own advice and strike up a conversation when a human sits down next to you at the train station, irrespective of whether they're chubby or not.

@[Deactivated]: And the award for Misguided Critique Right Out Of Left Field goes to..

(unless I'm missing something and I've been making posts about "guess which fatty at a train station I totally snubbed lately, my homies")

              • -2

                @Crow K: You're so obvious

                • -2

@[Deactivated]: Alright, sure, you got my number, weirdo. My comment about the poster's incoherent posting style suggesting they need to spend more time speaking to people and understanding how conversation works was exactly my cry for help for not being able to engage with fat people at train stations.

                  • -2

                    @Crow K: You've got it !

                    • @[Deactivated]: I'll let you get back to the more normal response being "what a sad life that person leaves, posting stuff like that on forums", Dr Phil.

                      • @Crow K: Dr Phil is THE best. WFH today so will be sure to catch his show. Did you know that he grew up in a dysfunctional family with an alcoholic father? Just goes to show (pun intended) that we're all responsible for our own lives.

        • That’s my read. Maybe not even a cognitive issue, perhaps just literacy. It’s not easy to make sentences easy to read unless you’ve progressed well in high school.

  • Next level scary…

Wouldn't need a big shed for the lancer though.

  • with the money that am on there probably wont be much left to have a life by time you take out for bills and stuff so its either run a property and have nothing left to have a life or be able to have a life but not have your own work area.

It sounds like you want it ALL NOW and you don't want to make sacrifices or work to get it…

There's not really any short-cuts in life, you just need to cut out all your optional expenses and save save save until you can afford what you want…

Just get a trailer, park it on the street and use it as your shed. According to a lot of people on this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/716699 it’s a legitimate thing to do.

  • It’s don’t think there are any shortcuts. Only possible thing I can think of is to find some shed space to rent. In town won’t be cheap. Shipping container at the back of an industrial complex maybe, farmers spare shed etc.

Was also wondering how you could choose the furniture or interior fit outs without having to have a place of your own or taking on a high up position in a community committee or a managers position in a company or a school’s business managers position.

Many managers of a company or a school business manager would probably get to choose and/or setup rooms or most would accept when it’s time to move to their own place and be done with it.

But some aren’t ready just yet to move or are able to do any of the above and are just trying to do best with what they have until they get what they want

And the place where some of us live isn’t big enough put something of theirs in the yard and the owner that might also live there might be stuck for life there and it’s only fair to pay your way and you do right thing and wait your turn and pay your own way and you pay for it
