Paid 1.99 last year. Great game. Good challenging levels

    • +2

It says it has in app purchases though..how much are you forced to buy credits to advance?

      • +2

I never spent a single cent on iap purchase and I managed to complete the game still. It's doable just need to learn the strategy and timing to counter the enemy army units

        • Just thought I'd agree, for others benefit.

I've managed to finish every level (not just campaign levels) on impossible difficulty using the initial hero. No IAP needed so it didn't cost me anything.

And you don't need to grind much either. I only spent maybe one hour grinding in total. By far the hardest was the Hand of the King level (3 nukes and 120 packs of etherium did it, which is about 10k of in game currency). The other levels no big deal, literally 5 minutes to grind. But abuse cloud save so your grinding doesn't get wasted with a random loss.

The game itself is good although dumbed down RTS as you aren't inputting with a mouse. Was well worth playing.

    I really enjoy Ironhide games.

Even though they have in-app purchases, I've completed Iron Marines and their Kingdom Rush games without buying any.

    • +3

There is hacked version for all of these games that you can use paid heroes freely and have unlimited gold. I know this comment may be negged, but only for those who do not want to pay any.

      • Cheers for this

I am a noob, how please?

Thanks! The Ironhide Kingdom Hearts series we're always some of my favorite android TD games. I've been curious to try this game since it launched but never commited to buying it. Much appreciated OP.

  • This has been free before yes?

    • +2

Yes. Same in-app purchases as their other games that includes buying stronger heroes with real $$.

      • -7

Thanks. Pass. There's more fun games that are free without ads.

        • Do you have one to suggest?

          • @bataleon: If you like gem 3 in a row games, Fishdom is stupidly addictive.

        • +1

You know of many games that are
          (a) fun
          (b) free
          (c) have no ads
          (d) have no in-app purchases, and
          (e) presumably, are of similar production quality to this game?

Dittoing @bataleon, I would like to hear of these!

            @SuperMrBlob: DATA WING

            • @sween64: Data wing is fantastic, highly recommended. Pako 2 doesn't fit the criteria though (ads and IAPs).

              • @SuperMrBlob: I wasn’t sure about PAKO 2. I haven’t played it in so long. I guess the ads weren’t obtrusive enough to annoy me.

            • +1

              @sween64: LICHESS

          • +1

@SuperMrBlob: Is Bloons TD 6 free? I got it for free sometime and play it regularly. There are in app purchases but you definitely don't need to purchase anything.

          • @SuperMrBlob: Crazy Defense heroes is pretty good. I’ve earned a bit of crypto playing it as well lol

  • It says in app purchases?

    • You can play the game to completion without making any purchases. That's what I've done.

Ironhide is a great game studio. I have an alert for them. In the 3 years of having the alert, this game has never been for free until now. I have purchased it - great game. Great studio. Highly recommended.

ppl generally steers away from in-app purchase. I am too, but as long as the game is good enough and not strictly pay to win (blizzard, yes i am staring at you), i don't mind spending a little.

Gotta support good game studio one way or another, and Ironhide games are recommendable.

    • +2

Not really. I am a huge fan of the KR series but with each subsequent release they have added more and more IAP. This is only on the mobile platforms… because they can. No IAP in the PC releases afaik.

      • Ah good to know, tks! nvr played kr on pc. I guess kr iap is only for hero and tower? Comparing to iap in diablo immortal

    • +1

Not all IAP's are evil or even equal. Some games make IAP's essential to complete the game, some make it agonisingly slow, some string you along with enticements; coins; subscriptions et. al. Some, like Ironhide, are optional and you can complete the game without a worry.

In my humble opinion, paid extra characters are a way to continue the longevity and replay-ability and longevity of the games IH make for the fans that like their games, and ironhide gets some extra compensation for their hardwork they put in making a quality game. Win/win.

    • People actually don't steer away from IAP which is why it's the most profitable and popular model now.

  • Link not working for iOS

    • I searched for it and was able to get it.

  • It says it's now $4.29 on the Play Store.

    Is the sale over?

Edit: it came up free when I clicked it again.

  • Better than brood war?

  • Ironhide is the top Tower Defense games developer. However this particular series is more graphic than strategy, more role playing. And Ironhide seems to remove ownership after a few years. Still Ironhide is the best developer of Tower Defense hands down.

    • What's the game called?

      • Kingdom Rush series.

Click the related store above and see previous deals.

  • If change phone can I re download again?

    • Yes, if you use the same Google or Apple account.

  • Thanks, downloaded the app!

  • Back to $4.29 I think?
