Toolpro 3000kg Low-Profile Garage Jack $214.99 (Was $379) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Supercheap Auto eBay

730
CARSNS

Credit to @Halsmich it's available for $215 at SCA Ebay with the code CARSNS. Looks like postage is cheaper as well.

Has been this price a couple of times this year. FYI if you're doing C&C, it's pretty heavy (specs say 42kg) so might be a 2-person lift.

Metro Vic delivery shows $14.95

Available on their eBay for $215 C&C with CARSNS.

  • Showing 229 for me

The 1600kg model is $60 collect on eBay store with $5 off using CARSNS, thanks @halsmich. Grabbed one

    • +2

      The 1600kg model…Grabbed one

Hope you lifted with your legs.

    • Thanks! Bought one too.

    • Would the 1600kg be ok for oil changes on a largeish SUV? (2017 CX-9)

      • +3

Anything under 2 tonne is usually pretty crap. You'll need more than just a trolley jack anyway, get a decent pair of stands so you can have the whole front up.

        • Yup I got stands, just hoping this is enough to get the front up then release it after stands are in place…

          • @bozzabear: It will work, I wouldn't use it however. It'll be pretty flimsy and remember most of your cars weight is over the front wheels.

          • +1

@bozzabear: I have the 1600kg one I have to left each side up one at a time, so I think the 3000 kg would be better to lift two front wheels up from the front mid if you want to lift both front wheels up at once.

            • @Bangerbargain: Yeah. I'll just get this one and do a side at a time. I can't really justify dropping 200+ for the stronger one for a twice a year oil change.

              • @bozzabear: You also lose ~20cm of possible lift height when going to the 1600kg model

              • @bozzabear: I used 1600kg one for 5 years to service small hatches. The weight capacity is ok but lifting height is right at limit to lift one side at a time. For heavier and taller SUV you may find it struggles to lift wheel off the ground. You can find jack with around 480mm lifting limit for around $100-150 when they are on sale.

      • I am not an engineer or anyone smart but I guess if you are only lifting the front of your SUV with it should be less than 1,600kg? What is important is to have jack stands to hold on to it?

        • Kurb weight of my model is 1845kg so yeah if it's just the front half of the car that's gotta be less than 1600…

        • +4

You use the jack to lift the car, you use stands to hold it. Stands don't rely on hydraulic fluid being held in by tiny valves to stop the car crushing you.

        • +3

yeah i throw a spare tire under too just coz why not

      • Ive used this jack for my 4wd ute and it's rubbish.
I just got the 2000kg one for $119 2 weeks back. So much better but a much larger unit. And no longer on special
The 1800kg one is also on special so I'd compare the lifting height and go from there.

      • +1

It's not just the weight capacity. Check the lift height as well.

      • NO!!

        CX9 is 2000kg.

Yes you can argue that you aren't lifting the whole car, just half… but it's still not good enough.

    • perfect, thanks mate :)

    • Thanks for telling this mate, bought one too

    • more than enough. You only lift more than half of the total weight of the car. Most of the cars on the market are less than 2 tonnes. I am using the SCA 1800kg ($50 on sale 2 years ago) to lift my 2.2 tonnes 4x4.

  • +3

Surely it can lift more than 2-persons!

    • 🤣

  • Are these any good? my 1800 or 2000kg SCA one leaks and is starting to fail, very poorly made

    • Had mine for 3+ years and it's been good. Used it yesterday in conjunction with the SCA pin stands
      .

  • Ha I had no idea it's 42kg I lob this thing around all the time… (and think it's bloody heavy)

    • The aluminium ones are pretty light…the steel ones a bit heavier. This one might be depleted uranium… or indian steelium.

  • +1

Not as low as you think. The frame itself isnt designed to lift a car with loe bumpers

    • +1

Agree, beware where your lift points are, I'm supposed to lift mine from a central point in the middle roughly under my engine to then put it on jack stands, this doesn't reach unless I drive up on some blocks first.

  • 112mm at the lowest lifting postition.

  • +1

Have one of these and it's great, as well as being low profile for small hatchbacks the max height is good for SUVs.

Even my local tyre shop uses them for smaller jobs when their hoist is busy and they look like they've been using the same ones for years.

Regardless of how good your jack is though, always use jack stands.

  • dammit i've been wanting a low jack… urhhhhhhhh my budget…

    • Probably get a cheaper low jack down st kilda way…

    • same I'd be looking at max $70 ish (as per my budget) for this kinda super low profile trolley jack

      • i grabbed the smaller 1600kg mentioned above. None of my cars weigh over 1350kg anyway and it's mainly for lighter, lower ones..

        • +1

Yea but need a higher lift max lift height though.

These kinda ones lift cars a lot higher.

None of my cars are SUV's or higher either, all standard sedans/hatchbacks.
$30 cheapo 1100kg trolley jack gets the job done barely enough, (doesn't lift car high enough unlike this one)

It's a very low quality jack. Personally I can't recommend it unless you want to replace your jack after every oil change. If you work with jack stands you might just be able to get the car on the stands before the jack runs out of oil — if you're lucky!

    • I found the quality decent its quite heavy and solid but you gotta be careful as the trolley moves as your jacking it up, leveled surface and good position is the key and watch the positioning as you jack it up.

    • +3

Sounds like you might have a faulty one? A jack shouldn't "run out" of hydraulic fluid during normal use and should be able to do hundreds if not thousands of lifts before you need to change the fluid.

      • Yeah, agree. You must have a broken one if its spitting out a bunch of oil every time you use it.

      • Is that a joke? Obviously it's broken if it leaks so badly, but that's the whole point. Who considers a trolley jack to be good quality if the seals give out after 6 months?

        • Any mass produced product has a rate of failures and the warranty is there to protect you from that. I don't think it's representative of the quality in general. I'm sure someone like Snap On can sell you 3 ton jack with a lower failure rate but certainly not at this price.

          • @fullspend: Of course they do, and my personal experience with Toolpro has been negative. But apparently I'm not allowed to post from my own experience with the exact product listed here, unless that experience has been a good one.

    • This is actually a very good quality jack to be honest.

Most ToolPro stuff is pretty good actually. You definitely had a faulty one. I've had this jack for nearly 4 years now and never had an issue.

  • Any good for a lowered sports car?

    • +1

This is as low as it goes for the price. If not low enough put something thin but strong like a portable ramp on the ground for your car to drive onto to lift your car a bit higher so this jack can get underneath.

      • Repco one goes lower but not on sale atm.

  • Isn't this normal pricing? I can see similar ones on ebay selling for $199 after coupon.
    e.g. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/383507405978

  • I've got $300 in Ultimate Gift Cards for him which I can use in store. Any workarounds to get the SCA Ebay store price when using these gift cards?

  • If only pre covid $119 price…

  • Hoping for repco one to be on sale. Has a much lower starting height compared to this.

  • +2

I also use a jack pad in conjunction with the trolley jack when lifting the side of the car at the pinch welds.

    Eg. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/202869919929

    • I made one from wood, didn't know they existed as a bought item
      .

    • Er, $19 ?

They cost $5 from the usual suspects - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001201269123.html

Do you understand what "eg." means?

        • Absolutely.

Do you understand that downvoting helpful links is the opposite of helpful ?

          • @Nom: Did I say that this was the cheapest example of a jack pad when I posted the link?

            • @lomie: Is there some reason you keep asking me questions ?

              What a strange thread 😂

              • @Nom: Why not just post a link without negative remarks?

      • "Wtf is a Lommy" I think you're being too sensitive, Nommy's link actually is very helpful, bought one.

  • Any point getting one of these versus a no brand on ebay? They all look exactly the same

    • All come from the same factory….

    • The guarantee. Try shipping this back at your cost for a replacement if it fails.

  • Wow! Thought it was a hi-tech lawn mower.
