Desky Pro+ and ErgoTune Supreme Ergonomic chairs, Any Experience?

Hi Guys,

I am exploring the market for a reasonably priced Ergonomic Chair for full-time WFH (Herman Miller is out of budget).

I have reviewed some previous posts regarding Ergo Chairs. At the moment, I am inclined towards either a Buro Metro 2 or a Steelcase leap V2 (quite expensive).
As these are only available online, I am a bit concerned about their suitability because I may not be able to try any of them before buying (or is there a way?).. Hence, exploring other options as well, as I would like to make an informed decision. (I am in QLD)

I recently came across, Desky Pro+ and ErgoTune Supreme. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?
Thanks in advance for the feedback, Cheers!

  • Steelcase leap is an amazing chair and easily obtainable for cheap from office clear outs. Expect to pay around $300

    • Thanks for the feedback. I am regularly checking FB Marketplace for leap v2, however not much successful.. Any recommendations on how to find office clear outs?

  • +1

Have you actually tried either of them? You can't make an informed decision without plonking your own rear into one and seeing how it actually feels for you.

Ergonomic chairs aren't actually comfortable for a lot of people. For example, I personally don't like mesh seats at all having tried many across different offices. Lumbar supports have different comfort levels for different people.

You need to find a store and have a go really.

  • I agree and that's why I wrote in the post, that I am concerned because I haven't tried.
Where can you try steelcase leap v2 and Buro Metro 2? (considering they are only available online). Are there any stores in QLD?

  • Are you in Brisbane? If so definitely try them out first if you're able. You can try the Desky+ at Desky's office in Darra. As for the Leap V2 the Brisbane retailer for Steelcase is Akri Environments which you can organise to go try out the Steelcase line at their home office in East Brisbane.

Fyi the Desky+ is a rebranded Merryfair Wau. Quite a few standing desk companies have rebranded them so you can find a few nore reivews etc that way. You can also get it from Mile End Office Furniture out of Melb for $560 delivered to Brisbane opposed to Desky who are asking $599-$699 plus delivery. I never got around to trying the Desky+, ended up with the Leap V2 after checking it out and sitting in it for 20mins+. Ultimately you're not going to know how good of a fit a chair is until you've spent many hours in it but it fit me well enough in my short time I figured I'd buy it. The headrest is a scam at $200-$300 more and felt a bit weird to me. I also wasn't a fan of the Gesture.

Can you tell I've just gone through the same process of finding a chair haha.

    • Good information mate, especially regarding the headrest for leap v2 (as I was considering that). I'll definitely try to visit the locations for a try, just wasn't aware of where to go for a trial. Thanks!

      • Hi, I am in the same boat as you. Did you get to try them and buy one of them? Thanks.

    • Got a quote from Mile End, $190+GST freight (albeit, to Hobart)

Ordering via Desky saved me almost $100, even with it being heavily discounted on Mile End

I’m in the same predicament! Looking for a new chair but it’s been hard to decide without many reviews or trying them out.

I’ve been looking at the Desky Pro+ and the Ergotune Supreme but there’s just not enough information out there for me to feel comfortable spending $600-$700 without trying it.

Will keep following this thread to see if anyone else can offer some insight here.

    • Did you decide anything yet?

  • I was in the same position just last month. I'm in Sydney so was able to try out some chairs and a local store and a used office furniture place.

We initially started with the ergotune, bought it unseen and un sat……we did not like it. Awkward neck positioning and poor/ awkward lumbar support. Not sure why it's rated so high. It was ok initially but after about 30 minutes it was painful. Returned it and got a refund thankfully.

We tried a few and the Steelcase v1 is what we settled on. Didn't try v2 so I didn't want to risk getting a chair I hadn't sat on again. The other chair was the humanscake world wide 1 that was even more comfortable but out of our price range.

Why not try them in your home. Most of the online places offer free delivery and free returns? It's a pain to repack a chair and annoying to be around for them to pick it up but it may work for you.

Oh also, ergotune charges you in SGP when you purchase. so you need a card that doesn't charge for overseas transactions

Do not get Desky, max seat height is only 43CM.. which is perfect if you are 5'3 or below
If you are taller than that skip desky. I got one and i m returning is now

  • Shipping kills the deal for me
