Hi all. I am looking for a gaming monitor for a friend who will use it mostly for playing playstation games (sorry, I'm not a gamer person). I have had the 32" Samsung Odyssey G5 34" 165Hz FreeSync Curved Gaming Monitor recommended at $549, which is in the budget, but is this the best option in the $500 ish price range? Someone else suggested that a 40" tv is a better option. If that's the case, then could you suggest one for me please.
Gaming Monitor or TV?

My downgrades when upgrading to a newer bigger 4K monitor for my main PC System, end up being my 4K bedroom TV, till thats sold 👍😁
Check that the PS5 can run those specific monitor resolutions I think that's still in the works atm and you will have black bars..
Maybe stick with the Samsung monitor then

32 or 34? Don't get the 34 if that's an ultrawide, ps4/5 don't support that.
I thinkbit was 34. I'll review that. Thanks
For gaming on a PS5 you really want real HDR, which means at least zoned backlighting. I don't know if $500 TVs come with that though because even some more expensive TVs don't have it. It's worth looking out for though, real HDR makes a huge difference, a bigger difference than a refresh rate over 60hz imo.
