Head Microgel Extreme MP Tennis Racquet $99.99 (Was $249.99) + Delivery @ Tennis Direct

90

The Head MicroGel Extreme MP is Head's venture into offering a real 'tweener frame-100 sq. in. head, 27.25" length, 24mm/26mm beam, and 11.1 oz. strung weight. Another improvement Head has made with the Extreme to traditional racquets is immediately visible: the geometrics of the racquet head size are changed making it wider and rounder. This increased width can allow the ball to slide across a larger stringbed, generating greater spin velocity and providing more power.

The Head Extreme also offers aggressive, competitive players ultimate feel and unique touch through patented technology called MicroGel. When combined with carbon composite fibers in the racquet head, MicroGel deforms and compresses upon ball impact, uniformly absorbing and distributing the impact load around the entire frame, creating a rock-solid feel while offering extra stability against twisting.

Good time to get a head

  • What is ‘head cover’

And also do you have badminton racquet on sale?

  • The head looks a bit small. Is this a standard adult racquet or for kids?

    • 100 sq. in. Is pretty standard for adult

  • great value; pity I recently bought similar

For anyone interested, this is perfectly fine for an adult or teenager. 100sq is forgiving, but still provides a decent amount of control.

You'll probably want/need to get it restrung as this series of racquets is from about 15 years ago.

Also, add "Firstserve10" for any extra 10% off ;)

  • Any good options for a 10yr old? He's outgrowing his fairly basic kids Wilson racquet and needs that next step up…

    • Depending on height etc I'd be looking at a 26 inch at that age, maybe 25 if he's really on the shorter end. Anything 27+ (i.e. adult size) might be a little unwieldy still.

    • 25 or 26 in graphite if he actually wants to do more then just play for fun. this racquet is too big and heavy for him. maybe age 12-14 he can use a light adult graphite racquet.

  • Can someone comment on whether this is a good choice for an intermediate player? Any recommended alternatives around this price?

    • it depends on what sort of game you play. are you a top spin bully like Nadal? pinpoint aggressive player like Federer or a mix of the two like Djokivic.

Also are they any issues such as tennis elbow?

    • yes, this great for intermediate players. this is cheap too, great value.

  • can you match this price on the oversized radical or other oversized options?

You can use code FIRSTSERVE10 to get additional 10% off. e.g $99.09 delivered.

  • microgel oversized now 120
