You're right. In fact, if you want to properly protect your pillows so that they don't fill up permanently with dried saliva, snot, sweat, dead skin cells, skin mites, bacteria, dust mites, dead dust mites, dust mite faeces, dust, bed bugs, fungus, and mould like most people's pillows (hotels included), then you need to cover your pillows in at least 5 cotton pillow cases, wash them all at least once a week, air your pillow every day, shake the dust off every day (by hitting it against something) and you need to vacuum it occasionally.
Personally, I prefer to leave the original plastic packaging on the pillow forever and cover it up with a bunch of pillow cases and even a towel so that it doesn't turn into a moist heap of dust and living organisms like most people's pillows. This will ensure the pillow lasts essentially forever. But it will be very warm, so you need to cover it in a lot of cotton pillow cases/protectors/towel.
I'd be curious to weigh a (my) pillow over the coarse of it's life.. I'd suspect the weight would slowly creep up as it gets filled with various bodily liquids and microorganisms and their waste products.
Is it thick ?
I have a feather pillow and would like something thick to avoid to feel the feather.
:)ForkSnorter are you OK? "Personally, I prefer to leave the original plastic packaging on the pillow forever"
Thanks OP….good deal, bought a set.lol think of asians who keep the plastic on their remote
Why not just use a second pillow case?
