33 Months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $69.76 (New Users) / $84.71 (Lapsed Users) @ Eneba

2501

Credit to the OP from deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706139
The price of a 3 month code seems to have gone down since original post. Total cost comes up much cheaper.
I've copied the following instructions from the original post.

  1. Purchase 8 codes
  2. Redeem code on http://redeem.microsoft.com/ or your xbox
  3. Enroll for auto renewal to get one extra month
  4. Turn off auto renew
  5. Repeat 7 more times
  6. Purchase Game Pass for $1 or $15.95(whichever is applicable to you) from https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-game-pass

New User:
(8 x 7.92)+ 5.4 + 1= 63.36+5.4+1= $69.76 ($ 1.99 per month for 35 months - new users will get 3 months added during step 6)

Lapsed User:
(8 x 7.92)+ 5.4+15.95= 63.36+5.4+15.95= $84.71 ($2.56 per month for 33 months - lapsed users will only get 1 month added during step 6)

      Enema.

  • -1

Dumb question perhaps, can this process be done if a current user with a few months remaining?

    • Looking at a few comments from the original post, it will work but the savings way less.
3 Xbox Live Gold will get you 50 days of XGPU. If you follow this process, you get 1 XLG to 1 XGPU.

You could possibly buy the codes now and redeem them after your current subscription has expired.

      • +3

looking at @wycs comment below, probably not a good idea to save the codes for later…

        • +1

          Yep, this.
Also Microsoft has taken notice of us brothers, they will be closing off this loophole sooner rather than later. Just like how Sony closed their PS+ loophole earlier this year. So anyone that's interested, take the plunge now, or potentially miss out and regret it for the next 3-years.

          • @Kangal: Thats weird, a Microsoft support agent was the one who told me about this little method.

    • If you have an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you will lose time due to a conversion of Live Gold into Game Pass Ultimate time. You have to wait until your Ultimate has lapsed.

See about half way down the FAQ for conversion rates
      https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptions-billing/ma…

  • Was gonna ask the same thing if this can be used to top up my current subscription up to 35 months or save the keys and use it when my subscription lapses? Anyone have experience please with having done this?

    • +5

If you use these on an existing ultimate subscription each 3 month gold code will add a 50 days of ultimate. From sites like these you definitely do not want to sit on the codes, there is always a chance the codes get deactivated before you use them.

      • Thanks for the info

      • Anyone know what's this
        Plus 1 month thing

3 months of Gold = 50 days of Ultimate (1+ month)

    • +3

No. The trick here is you get 3 months + a bonus month for each code by turning on/off auto renewals. Then you take all those gold months and upgrade them to ultimate with the final step.

With an existing account, the 3 months gold card converts into 50 days ultimate and that's it. So 8 cards is only 400 days worth, not almost 3 years. Still way cheaper than the $16 a month normal price, but not great.

      • +1

Thanks for the info, I might wait and also not buy it just in case they do get deactivated like wycs mentioned.

  • Is it a must to do step 6? Purchase Game Pass for $1 or $15.95(whichever is applicable to you) from??

    • +6

Xbox Live Gold is the only thing you are purchasing from Eneba. The little bit extra there gets you the Game Pass, which is a large list of games playable on both Xbox and PC. It isn't necessary.

    • Yep the last step converts the 'Xbox Live Gold' subscription to 'Game Pass Ultimate'

  • +1

I am wondering where those code came from? Genuine question.

    • Sometimes it's just purchased in a lower priced country that has global keys available. But likely it's stolen credit cards.

      • -1

And you have evidence of this?

        • I guess I'm being generalist, this was a problem with G2A, I highly doubt Eneba has completely solved it. I probably should have put it the other way around, likely lower priced countries but also possibly stolen credit cards.

        • Hasn't reported to be happening at Eneba yet, but with Online unofficial marketplaces there's nothing really stopping that from happening, like with the documented G2A scandals.

      • Don’t even know why anyone would downvote your comment?! Just upvote it as I think you’re not wrong there.

  • You need to buy through Eneba wallet to get this price? Is it safe?

    • Have had positive experiences with Eneba in the past, their rep has posted deals here before too.

    • have used them for a couple of years now, about 10x. No issues at all

    • I've used Eneba many times now, only once had an isssue, which their support team helped fix up.

  • If one have less than a week for XGPU, is it safe to buy the above deal and redeem a day after it is expired?

    • +1

I think one week would be fine, these keys are not meant to expire but there is always a small amount of risk from unofficial sellers. If you're worried, you could also just cancel your sub early now since one week won't be a huge loss.

      • This may be a stupid question but if I hit the cancel button, will it kill the subscription then or will the sub lapse at the original expiry date? Asking for a slow friend.

        • Yes "Cancel subscription" will immediately kill it, as opposed to turning off recurring billing.

  • +1

Keep in mind that the price listed in Eneba may differ with your Bank's currency rate

I recently bought 8x 3mo Gold & 1mo XGPU, the total was $85 in Eneba.

But when I paid it with my Commbank credit card, the price went up to $89 due to Commbank's currency rate.

  • Has anyone used Xbox Cloud Gaming? If so, how have you found it? I haven't heard great things

    • +1

Tekken 7 is unplayable cos of the lag.

If U have a good controller setup then other games like Hades and platform games are cool. But mostly at home anyways and I got a switch for outside play….

So it's meh. That's my experience though, could be different for others 😊

    • +1

depends on the game really, if you are playing a fighting game or fps its not great but it is great for things like turn based RPGs or anything where you dont need to be hitting combos or aiming quickly.

    • +1

For me it's the flexibility and ability for gameplay continuance.

for example, while playing Jedi Fallen, I played while away on android phone and controller, when I got home, I can pick up where I stopped back on the Xbox. Then during the week at lunch break at work on PC. Heck you can even continue on an iPad!

All without needing to download and install the game itself!

Of course you can't get framerate speed, quality of image AND all the other benefits, but it's very good IMO.

    • +1

It can also depend on your modem/router. I was consistently getting the bottom half of the screen not getting updated and lots of pixelation. Then I bought a dedicated and reasonably good router to go behind the modem and now i get pretty good video.

    • +1

Third person, racing and indy side scrollers work great

    • +2

Even though it is still technically still in "beta" I am have a great time using it as a smorgasboard of instant on demand games that I can pickup and play.
It's like the Netflix of video game service for my needs. I don't play online games or use the xbox gold function so this is the only reason I am using the Game Pass service. I am playing through an old laptop with an ethernet connection to mobile 4G sim card I get good performance. There is some occasional screen tearing or delay but it's pretty minor in the scheme of things. I have played FPS, racing, adventure, sports, all types of games.

    New User:
    (8 x 7.92)+ 5.4 + 1= 63.36+5.4+1= $69.76 ($ 1.99 per month for 35 months - new users will get 3 months added during step 6)

The $1 for 3 months offer ended June 30 and it went back to the regular $1 for 1st month so I don't think that will work unless they are running the offer again now?

    • +1

Yep does say so on the Game Pass Site for me

Join now to get your first month for $1.

So either way, new or existing, you're getting 33 months

  • I just purchased a key and when I am getting the key the options are- "confirm GLOBAL is the correct region". Is this correct?

    • +2

      yes

    • +1

Yes unless you happen to be on the moon or mars…

Good to see Eneba is doing good stuff similar to cdkeys. Cheers OP!

Also a reminder. When using paypal for checkout pay in direct EUR (not paypal's converted currency to avoid conversion fees)

    • +1

Next charge on May 11, 2025. Total was $68.1 AUD for 33 months of GPU. Happy days.

Just an update. I had some trouble converting Gold to GPU, For some reason it was subscribing me for Game Pass PC from link and not Ultimate (which the microsoft offer is valid for), so had to manually switch to ultimate.

  • -1

    What about current subs?

    • you get 50 days per 3 month card converted, depends on your situation if you can wait until your sub lapses and hope for similar price in the future its better value or just max out 3 years buying at the converted rate if you think prices will be higher in the future. It's a bit of a gamble for people with a year or so still on sub.

      • It says there's no expiry on them, could I buy the 8 codes now, and when my sub expires just enter them then?

        • Just a reminder this is a "loophole", microsoft could close this loophole at any time making your 3 month gold code only woth 50 days of GPU. If you happy with the risk go for it :)

          • @Pixel Spam: Ahh yeah of course, thanks :) i'll hold out, im not really in a rush for it.

          • @Pixel Spam: I think Microsoft are more likely to completely get rid of Live Gold (stop sales) than to mess with the conversion, which has always been the speculation as Game Pass gets bigger and bigger. Though I imagine this won't just happen overnight without warning.

            • @wangasm: I agree re Gold being removed, but there is still a risk that for anyone that buys gold cards now for use months down the track may not be able to access this conversion loophole and will only be able to redeem 50 days of game pass per code (based on todays conversion rate)

  • Mine expires in less than 12 months. hope these deals stay around.

  • Mine month expires on the 11th August so I have grabbed some today and will apply them in 4 days.
I hope there are no issues or changes in the interim, but with only 4 days I thought it was worth the gamble.

I have paid the full $15.95 twice since it was introduced as I did the stacking last time (Was around $150 from memory for the 3 years) and am on the month to month now.

If anyone wants a free month of xbox, feel free to use this code
    7M66W-67DWQ-9DQKP-G9HV3-7K34Z

Redeem at microsoft.com/redeem by 15/08/22. Valid for new Xbox Game Pass members only. Eligible credit or debit card required. Unless you cancel, you will be charged the then-current regular membership rate when the promotional period ends. More info

Got it from the Razer Microphone deal. If you add it to your account first, you should be able to add the eneba credit ontop, which is what I would have done if I had realized that it was only for new customers.

    • If you add the free month first, you lose the benefit of the 1:1 Gold to GPU conversion from this deal.

      • Are you certain about that?

        • Yup, hence why the title of the deal says New/Lapsed users only. If you already have a sub you get the reduced conversion rate.

          • @wangasm: Isn't that only if you have Game Pass Ultimate which already includes Live?

When you have Game Pass PC and Live they are separate.

I've converted PC to Ultimate before without issues so unless something has changed I think it should be fine.

            • @HomeAlone: Live Gold (This deal) and PC are separate products though, why would they let you also convert PC to GPU for free? I haven't tried this combo myself though so can't say what will happen.

              • @wangasm:

Live Gold (This deal) and PC are separate products though

That's exactly my point. In your account it will show those 2 as separate subscriptions and when you upgrade to GPU it converts both as they are both included in Ultimate.

why would they let you also convert PC to GPU for free?

I honestly have no idea. I also have no idea why they let us convert Live Gold to GPU for free.

I haven't tried this combo myself though so can't say what will happen.

I had to double-check to make sure I'm remembering this right, but yeah it definitely worked late last year.

                2 December 2021:

                • 14-day Live Gold trial

                • $1 for 3 months of Game Pass for PC

                • $1 for 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate

Converted to GPU until 19 April 2022 (~4.5 months)

Maybe things have changed and it's not worth the risk finding out, especially since we're talking about risking considerably more than the $2 I had on the line.

                • @HomeAlone:

I honestly have no idea. I also have no idea why they let us convert Live Gold to GPU for free.

Upgrading Gold actually makes more sense, they are trying to promote/boost their Game Pass subscriber base while slowly phasing out Gold. This loophole was just the unintended effect of that.

          • @wangasm: Yeah you might be right. It's for PC gamepass, not xbox gold, so it might function differently. Still, free to anyone who wants it

  • Didn't know about Eneba before the last GPU deal which was posted.

I've since bought a few Xbox games off there (and more in future), redeemed via a VPN. A fraction of the price as listed on the Xbox store.

  • Is this the one that includes PC aswell heard a few good games were on there

    • It includes PC, console and cloud.

    • There are currently 444 games just on the PC gamepass side of things, heaps of great stuff, you can check them all here:
      https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/xbox-game-pass/games#
Just make sure to click on "PC Games" button to filter the games list.

  • +1

Damn, it’s cheaper and cheaper. Last time I bought 36 months for over $100.

  • Cost me $82.49 for a smorgasbord of high quality games until 11/05/2025. Makes the $110 PS2 games I used to buy look bad.

  • I am disgusted in myself for having paid ~$100 a month ago.

    • please return your ozbargainer level 10 badge at the reception. you will be reset to level 0. We have all been there, don't be hard on yourself.

  • Nice. I now have GPU until 5/11/2025. Total cost was $67.85

  • We need to create a FAQ that can be copy and pasted in the description every time there's one of these GPU posts because people in the comments section are always asking the same questions…

    • +2

I did one in an old deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11986180/redir
Guess I'll just update it here with the most common questions/issues.

      FAQ/Tips

      • Yes this works after your existing sub expires. There may be a 24 hour delay after the final day until it lets you convert to GPU (It will display a "Something went wrong" error)
      • You can add Gold to an existing GPU sub but it converts at a lower rate of 3 Gold to 1 month GPU. Recommend waiting or cancelling early if you can.
      • Ensure the Country/region in your Microsoft account is set to Australia for the whole process. On some accounts it may be defaulted to US. If it is not set to Australia you may have issues converting Gold to GPU.
      • Sometimes when claiming a code it will say the code has already been redeemed but it will have actually added to your account. Double check that it has.
  • do we need vpn?

    • Nope. Mine worked without. I bought the one marked as global

  • It works. It’s honestly a bit risky given that it’s a grey reseller. Doesn’t seem too common, but I’ve heard that people’s subscriptions have been cancelled if you’re unlucky. I still took the gamble. If it even lasts a year, you still come out on top.

    • If it stops working after a year maybe you lodge a visa dispute with your bank for breach of contract.

  • Fantastic, and I haven't even purchased my Xbox yet!

  • I prefer the $1 for 3 months = $0.33 cents p/m but this is as cheap as it's going to get so +1.
Personally, I probably wont commit as I only use for occasional cloud gaming and have played almost everything I desired.

  • Kept getting App-ValidatePIOnAttachFailed for some reason when turning on recurring billing, switched from my credit card to paypal which fixed it, in case anyone else has that problem.

  • Will this work if you have already claimed similar a year ago? but currently expired. I remember there being something about you can only do the conversion once per account? Thanks

    • You can do it multiple times per account, but you may have to pay $15.95 instead of $1 for the last step

  • Oof, I've got 2 months left of ultimate from the last time I claimed this in 2020… Don't really want to risk sitting on these codes for 2 months, hopefully another deal comes up in 2 months time..

  • When I clicked the link, the title shows 'Xbox Live Gold 3 months'. Is it correct? I don't have Xbox, just trying to play games on PC.

  • Yeah, I was waiting for my game pass to expire - Just did today. Now it's done, Game Pass Ultimate subscription expires on the 7th August 2025.

    Thanks Eneba!

  • +1

Also, for lapsed users, I suggest getting nine (9) codes for a total of 36 months. Yes, it's not quite a good "value for money", but it's almost the same, and microsoft is SURE to close this loophole in the next three years, so might as well get as much bang for buck now as possible:

    9 global codes ($9.97) + fee ($5.40) + one month game pass ($15.95) = $90.65
Per month (36) that is $2.518

    8 global codes ($9.97) + fee ($5.40) + one month game pass ($15.95) = $82.68
Per month (33) that is $2.505 - only 1.3 cents cheaper per month.

    Cheers

    • good point. just did this.

    • Microsoft haven’t closed it in the last 2 years so why are they SURE to close it in the next 3? What’s happening that hasn’t already happened?

  • is this working for everyone else?
bought my codes a couple weeks ago, trying to stack now but only the first code worked, others say "something went wrong"

    • I just did this with 9 codes. But I bought them in the last hour.
You might have to ask for a new code?
      Cheers.

      • Thanks, at least I know it still works.
        Maybe my codes arent valid

  • +1
    • I bought my codes from eneba last this was on Ozbargain (couple weeks ago).
Gamepass just expired so I'm trying to do this stacking method.

Might leave it a while and try again tonight.

    • Maybe? It says they are stacking multiple instances of the PC introductory offer and converting it to GPU… this is stacking XBLive Gold passes and then converting them… So maybe not. No one here seems to be screaming about how they had their passes cancelled just yet. Be interesting to hear if it's just cancelled and thanks for coming or if people are at least getting the lesser conversion rate for the passes.

It does go on to say "Subscriptions must be purchased directly from Microsoft digital store or via verified third-party retailers." For us here in Australia thats this list right??:
      https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/where-to-buy

      For the sake of discussion:
      Getting 3 x 12 month passes from JB would cost $79.95 x 3 = $239.85
      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/xbox-xbox-live-gold-12-mo…

If you stacked these and converted them for a max of $15.95 your total would be $239.85 for 36 months or $6.6625 / month. Still a massive savings off month to month and purchased completely from authorised re-sellers (in Australia even) if you didn't want to take the risk.

I think I used a similar process way back when I first used this approach.

      • Couple hours later and it worked!
I did read it can be screwy if you don't wait a day or so after your sub expires, so maybe that's all it was?

        Anyway, I'm good for 3 years :)
