    Good time to upgrade for those with your legions 5s and other machines with the stock 2x8gb ram kits.

    double the ram aside you are getting 10% increase (or even more in some cases) across gaming and productivity benchmarks

    • Source link for 10% increase? I thought ram didn't make much difference unless you have so little that it starts swapping.

      • You can check LTT or the Jarrods video

        Its an interesting case thats really only applicable to ddr4 sodimm manufacturered in recent years

    • Is this dual rank? One of the reviews say it's dual channel but not dual ranked

    3200 cl22 at 1.2v is JEDEC standard, just without xmp.

    • another jedec 3200 standard is 20-22-22, Kingston Fury does that at 1.2V no problem

      my laptop doesn't support XMP, and Kingston Fury works at 20-22-22 fine. 32GB kit was $200 on Amazon couple days ago

      Kingston Fury Impact 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) 3200MHz DDR4 CL20 Laptop Memory Kit of 2 KF432S20IBK2/32, Black https://amzn.asia/d/c2uXfoR

      however before that I had two Crucial 16gb modules in there from this post. also work fine, but cl20 is faster in gaming

  • What's the difference between
    CT16G4SFRA32A
    and
    CT16G4SFS832A
    ???

    • +2

      CT16G4SFRA32A = Grab bag. Can be either single or dual rank, but always x8 so at least you don't run the risk of ending up with x16.

      CT16G4SFS832A = Single rank x8 (1Rx8)

      There's also:
      CT16G4SFD832A = Dual rank x8 (2Rx8)

  • Hi everybody,

    I have 2x16GB DDR4 SODIMM RAMs in my laptop, one dual rank and one single rank. Would the performance be noticeably different if they were both the same?

    CT16G4SFRA32A.M8FB -> single rank
    CT16G4SFRA32A.C16FP -> dual rank

    • AMD or Intel processor?

      • Intel i5 11400H

        Acer Nitro 5

        NVIDIA 3060

    Surprisingly there's a Crucial 8GB DDR4 3200 MT/s for $36 on the same page.

    • That model is a grab bag.

      Extremely high chance of getting 1Rx16 trash.
      Low chance of getting 1Rx8.
      Slim-to-none chance of getting 2Rx8.

      Unless you're feeling extremely lucky I would recommend getting the CT8G4SFS832A instead for $37 which is guaranteed to be 1Rx8.

  • Does it fit for dell xps laptop?

    • model?

  • Bugger it, I'm in this time. Nearly pulled the trigger on prime day, then again shortly after. Talked myself out of it each time.

    8gb to 32gb shall be lovely

  • It's great than Ram is affordable again. This is a no brainer upgrade for anyone with an older system. Windows can make use of the increased Ram to cache data, which saves time when multitasking. If I start modified Skyrim up, load a save, exit, restart, the save loads much faster the second time. However, this speed saving doesn't seem to be happening with Pillars of Eternity for whatever reason (it is a long game without 5+ second waits on change of map on a Samsung Nvme SSD).

  • Doh. Crucial’s website suggests this is no good for iMac 2020 27” Retina 5K and recommends the slower 2666 RAM instead (CT16G4S266M for the 16GB module).

  • I am after a 64 GB kit for mini PC setup. Are there any deals for that ? Thanks

  • Whats best setup to get 32GB for Amd Ryzen Lenovo Legion Pro 5

  • The single rank module is $69 now
    btw, OP deal is $78 now.
    Denser, newer module might have less compatibility issues with low end processors like Celeron. However gaming laptops usually perform a little better with dual rank modules.
