Australia Post Cheapest Small Package?

Hi

Question for Ebay sellers.

I would like to sell some cables via ebay.

Found the cost of postage is very high to make money.

How do you guys get the cheapest postage for small packages. for Example 1metre HDMI cable.

I'm asking as I ordered a small item that only cost $9 , they seem to send via a envelope that was postage paid printed on it.

Where do they get , must be cheap as selling for $9 via ebay to make some money.

    A few ways:

    • AusPost have deeply discounted shipping rates (as high as 40% off) depending on how many parcels you send a month
    • If you're an especially big sender, you can negotiate even higher discounts via a specific contract with AusPost. For example I've noticed a lot of parcels shipping "from Australia" are often sent from China via the same single address in NSW, so it would seem that there are many sellers sending via the same distribution centre with presumably big postage discounts
    • Send it as a "letter" and hope AusPost lets it slip through (but be prepared to piss off your buyers when things fail to arrive)

    You can ship anything as long as it's less than 2cm thick and 500g with envelope and $2.2 stamps. Just buy the stamps and envelope and drop it to nearest Auspost box. This is acceptable but those people on post office usually gives out not happy face. Note it's not trackable, but generally safe.

    Postage paid is almost the same cost as the stamps, only few cents lower. They stamp the envelopes and they count how many and put the amount in full rate mailing statement form and usually paid via their account with Auspost.

      If you intend using eBay as your selling platform, be aware that eBay may adjust the algorithm to reduce your sales if you don't send items with a tracking number.
