Price is good for the features. Can't comment on quality etc
As for quality I have two SV03s so feel i should make a comment.
They were/are on par with Creality stuff (so mid tier quality) but the assembly of the parts was a bit meh (Inconsistent routing of cables, one wouldnt have blocked the movement if I had left it as is.One of the boxes had labels from Creality so Im guessing they might be made in the same factory, esp given some of the bits look identical.
Reviews for the SV01 Pro indicate the fan duct is to close to printer - I had the same issue with both my SV03's I ended up printing my own and thats fine though should not exist as a problem.
They laud their touchscreen UI in the above post, Im presuming their firmware has been updated since I ordered my touchscreens in early 2021 as the UI then was so excerable (less functions for a start) I only installed it on one (and would have rolled that back if I didnt cut one of the wires the LCD used getting it out)
I didnt have any issues with safety features though which is most important.
Ie this is fine for the price, though dont expect anything amazing.
Does indeed look to have good features. I'm in the market around this price range although I keep looping around back to the Ender models because of the sheer volume of upgrades you seem to be able to do. How tweakable are these I wonder or would you just stick to the feature set until you need to upgrade to another model?
Ender printers are fantastic not only because of the hardware upgrades you can do, but the extensive software support as well with slicer profiles and printer firmware.
In terms of features this one (seems to) have basically everything you would want. Only things I could think of us an upgraded cooling fan duct, and a heated build chamber.
You might run in to trouble upgrading The hot end on this prInter, Depending how Closely They've cloned The Ender. Just A nozzle Upgrade With a CHT nozzle already gets you most of the benefits though.
Agree with OZKap. I've got a Voxelab Aquila (Ender clone), and while I love the amount of mods and upgrades you can do to it to make it amazing, this one seems to come with most of what you would want to upgrade (direct drive, CR Touch, magnetic plate, filament sensor) for a fraction of the cost of upgrading an Ender yourself.
Having said that, going through all the upgrades has taught me so much about 3D printers that I would never have known if it just came out of the box with nothing more to do, which is more fun for me.
Unless you are in a hurry, Elegoo Neptune 3 can still be pre-ordered and will be shipping soon. Aside from the slightly smaller build area and no direct drive extruder, it's $100 cheaper and reviews well.
I think my main criteria is ability to use flex filament, even quite wibbly stuff like ninjaflex. The neptune seems to have a dual gear extruder which this model lacks (I think??) but would I still be better of with the sovol for flex filament?
Rep, how does this compare to Anycubic Kobra
