Old TV to Be Refunded, Looking for a New Gaming TV

Hi all,

Long-time lurker, rarely poster here and i have a question.

My old samsung Q70T (2020 Model) has gone bang and there's talks of being refunded from Samsung.

I am looking for a replacement, something long the same price - $2200ish

it will be solely for gaming, and looking for the best Gaming TV (I have a PS5, High end gaming PC and a switch)

What would the ozbarginers out there recommend the best bang for my buck? ^_^

I had my 4 year old Samsung UA60ES8000 refunded for full purchase price ($4100?) a couple years ago. It does happen.

Edit: bit more detail - we have really good consumer laws in Australia and a while back Samsung apparently got in trouble because a lot of their TVs weren't lasting as long as one might "reasonably expect" (key words) for the price you pay.. so their refund policy became pretty generous. At the time the repair policy involved replacing one or more key components in the device - the screen, the psu, the wireless card and the "processor" (for wont of better word - it was the motherboard basically). After replacing 3 of the 4 components, only to discover that the refurbished screen they provided was faulty, the service guys advised Samsung that it was… there was some key phrase they used, and I was offered a lower quality refurb unit (worth about $1700) or a full refund of the $4100. You can guess which I took.

    LG C series.

Older C1's if you can find them by FAR the best gmaing TV's out there bang for you buck.

C2 series some minor improvements, but more expensive.

  • I recently got a Gigabyte Aorus FO48U (LG C1 OLED panel in it without the smart TV functions) on one of the $1100 sales, it has been fantastic for my Xbox Series X. Currently, I don't think there's a better deal for the picture quality this delivers. Surely there will be another deal on them soon.

Otherwise I'd go for an LG C2, or the new TCL C835 range looks pretty good for the money.

make sure it has real HDR, with at least zoned backlighting if not individually lit pixels. A lot of "HDR" TVs mean sold now do not have zoned backlighting. It must add a lot to the cost to make the TV and I bet manufacturers have found most people don't care about or understand the specs when buying.

  • LG c2 gets my vote! fkn love it for gaming/desktop

  • if you want the best for gaming its LG C1 and C2 series
