If same price, 980 Pro because in general, it is faster. One concern I have is that one youTuber used extra heat to simulate data ageing performance and P5 Plus did poorly on retaining old data if left power off for a long time (via heat simulation).
However, I don't know Crucial's warranty service. I only have limited experience. Samsung, you can do the RMA yourself and Samsung gave me a better SSD as a replacement last time. Kingston, I had to go back to the store (MSY), but I was surprised MSY gave me a full refund (the store doesn't have that SSD anymore) - had the Kingston SSD for about 3 years. WD - only had HDD warranty experience (not happy with that, but some people had better experience).
Which heatsink do people use for ps5?
The one I picked - el cheap Jeyi - was cheaper back then though.
The one I would use now - be quiet mc1 - However, I am concerned about the comment the screws provided didn't work.
Both aren't the cheapest. There are far cheaper option. I prefer those ones because they seem easier for double sided SSD (easier for a clumsy person like me). However, this one is single sided (I think) so going for cheap heatsink should still be quite easy to install.
im using this heatsink with WD SN850 on my ps5:
SABRENT M.2 NVMe Heatsink for The PS5 Console (SB-PSHS)

it actually replaces the original ps5 ssd slot cover to get better cooling.
I still think the best deal they had was the 149 for the 1tb SN850 WD black Gen 4 7000MB/s deals on Amazon UK on prime day. there doesnt' seem to be a deal that has beaten it for the same kind of gen 4 drive.
For now, yes. However, it was a fomo purchase for me. Majority of PCIe gen 4 SSDs are overkill for most people. Also, a question mark is the warranty process with these Amazon UK deals.
from my experience Amazon UK, US, and AU all provide the same warranty benefits because they are all under amazon.
Do you know how it works (esp. after 1 year)? Is it like what MSY did for me recently: a choice of refund or replacement? Or, it will be going through WD's RMA process?
@netsurfer: never had a issue after a year usually failure occurs within the first year from my experience never really kept a drive more than 2 or 3 years with out upgrading.

This or Samsung 980 Pro?
