I've just received an email titled "Ozbargain Discord" with about 50 leaked emails on it of fellow Ozbargain members…
Has anyone else received this? And what can be done to rectify this and to stop it happening again? Completely against privacy protocol leaking my email + everyone elses.
Does it have usernames for each email address?
No usernames, just the email addresses of everyone who was sent this email. It was sent by JV V.

I would be remiss if I didn't take this chance to remind everyone that Discord is a cancer.
It very much isn't. It's a pretty great platform to bring communities together from multiple different subject areas in one place. A massive evolution of IRC.
This specific third party Ozbargain Discord however, no idea, may very well be used for nefarious purposes.
May have no relevance at all, but Lenovo disclosed email addresses this afternoon (and I'm sure many would be from Ozbargain) in an email cancelling points from their promotion, as per the end of this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/715672
Interesting.. I participated but was never a part of the email chain/leak; I was however part of the Drop Coffee leak and concluded that was the source of this email.

All these people sending emails seem to have had their email addresses marked as spam LOL. They are all in my gmail spam bin now. Good luck sending emails to people in the future once blacklisted. I haven't even reported it as spam. Must be the others.
Just FYI, the OzBargain Discord is not run by OzBargain. You should report any spam you are receiving from the admin of that Discord to Discord themselves.
Update: It appears that allegedly Lenovo has accidentally CCed numerous people from this deal. The admin of the OzBargain Discord has then allegedly emailed a number of those accidently leaked email address promoting their OzBargain Discord.
Other than reporting this to Discord, you may want to report the breach to Lenovo and/or the OAIC
I haven't joined that Discord, it's the email that is the issue I'm having as mine has been leaked as well as many others.
Not particularly relevant to the issue at hand. The emails of those who participated in the Drop Coffee sale were leaked by the owner of Drop Coffee, and now fellow ozb members are using it to advertise whatever they like.
To answer OP's question, nothing can be done to stop this from continuously occurring outside of blocking all the email addresses.
