Hi, has anyone travelled Business class to Europe with Vietnam Airlines?
Their fares are quite cheap compared to other airlines. I would appreciate all opinions. Thank you.

Seconded. Shall we put it to the vote?
OP needs to add a poll to solve this mystery once and for all.
I think OP is expecting some proof…
@MS Paint. Very helpful, thanks!🤣
In my business, the opinion is that you travel to Europe on Vietnam Airlines
Oh my goodness, maybe I should have been more specific.
I would like to know whether anyone who has experienced travelling with Vietnam Airlines can recommend travelling with them and what are the pros and cons.
Would you say Business class is the same regardless of the airline? In the past I have only flown Virgin and Emirates but they are so expensive.
Maybe, I will get some serious answers now!🤣anyone who has experienced travelling with Vietnam Airlines can recommend travelling with them
That may reduce how many responses you get though.
Would you say Business class is the same regardless of the airline?
Definitely not. It's not even the same experience within the same airline depending on the different aircraft type & configuration for your journey.
You'll need more details on the proposed aircraft and check out seatguru.com for an idea of what's it's like.
Problems is you won't have a very fancy lounge access while in transit over there.
You'll have access to the lotus lounge.
As long they serve pho on the flight, why not?
I've heard they serve banh mi too
You'll be flying a 787-9 to Ho Chi Minh City before transiting onwards to Europe. Some operated by an A350, and others, another 787-9.
The experience onboard is fantastic. The crew, food, and overall service is immaculate. You won't regret it. I'd probably recommend watching a couple of airline reviews as it'll probably help you best.
If you need to transit SGN-HAN, those flights might be deemed domestic and require you to clear immigration, meaning you'll need a visa for Vietnam (possibly two if the transit is on both inbound and outbound)
I haven’t done to Europe, but flew Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City business class on Vietnam airlines at end of 2017.
From memory, I’d describe it as being like domestic business class here. Older planes so older style seats, not lie flat. Can’t recall the entertainment system at all, so there may not have been one.
They also didn’t have their own lounge so go sent off to a generic one that had very little amenities. Basically I could get a seat, internet and a drink.
Your flight would have been on an A321 which are a little older, but VN's long haul fleet are all 787-9s and A350s which are quite new, so the experience will be different.
My inlaws fly back to UK every couple of years in Business. Most recently they went with Vietnam Airlines due to the lower cost. They usually fly Singapore or Emirates. They liked that the planes were very new but the hard product and service was a step below the top tier airlines. They compared it to Thai but with newer planes and more reserved staff.
But the $ savings would be significant and more than make up for the loss of 'top tier' amenities.
Saving is great, half the cost for when they were flying. They won't be flying Vietnam again as the layovers were just too long for them.
It won't be up there with the likes of Emirates and Singapore Airlines but Vietnam Airlines is generally is well regarded and does a decent job.
Ho Chi Minh City airport isn't bad to transit through either. For me business class is mostly about the seats, more so than the service. Sure good service and nicer food is good, but realistically I wouldn't fly business class if it wasn't for the better seats. So in that sense I'd say go for it and just don't have your hopes too high re the food and services. Find out which planes are used for the route then you can see what seat configuration they have and you'll know what you're paying for.
Also check the flight time and number of stops for the route. That could be a deal breaker.
Hey mate, did a bunch of research on business class flights to Europe a couple of months ago. Was considering Vietnam Airlines but decided against it in the end for two reasons:
1. The layovers on both legs were absolute monsters both exceeding 8hrs.
2. Lounge access at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) is mediocre at best.
In the end I went with economy class with Qatar airways A380 and paid a bit extra for the upper deck seats; also both legs with <4hr layover in Doha. All up economy Qatar Airways cost 3.4k return; the Vietnam Airlines Business class would've cost 5.5k return. Flying in December.Good luck mate.
How about review of the flight crew ? Cute viet chicks like at cabramatta?
what the f…
No and never with VN airline.
Their safety for long flight does not meet standard.Whose standard?
Pilots…….lol..
Flew VN to SGN a decade ago on the A330 with the angled seats. I used them because I could get an AF codeshare from SGN to CDG making the $3.8k price tag okay.
They were fine, and today offer A350 and 787 services to Europe so are now pretty good… if the long layovers work for you (mind you, five star hotels in HCMC are cheap as chips and getting into town is a 15 minute cab ride, making a stopover a good option - I did this and stayed at the Sofitel on the club floor)….
In my opinion, someone has travelled Business class to Europe with Vietnam Airlines.
